The Legend of Gdansk
The amazing sculptor Daniel liked to sculpt lions. Once upon a time the mayor of the city wanted to decorate the town hall with a new coat of arms. He ask Daniel to do it. The sculptor was very happy. After a long time Daniel finished his work. The people from Gdańsk made a big party. The coat of arms was shown at the party. People were angry. The lions were not looking at eatch other as they were supposed to. After the people got angry, the old man came. He said the lions were looking in the good direction now. The lions look towards the Royal Road, expecting help from our Republic when it is needed.

Gabriel Fahrenheit was born in Gdańsk. He made mercury thermometr and thermometer scale.
In The Second World War has been destroyed about 90% downtown (I leaving picture from now and then)
Żuraw/ Crane - a medieval port lift – crane. It could took 4 tons to a height of 11 meters. It was possible thanks to the weight of people (most often convicts) walking inside two six-meter drums. The crane was used for reloading goods and as a city and defensive gate He worked as a crane for almost 500 years - until the middle of the 19th century. Now it is a part of the Central Maritime Museum, which invites you to see the mechanisms of the crane.

Neptune holds a trident in his hand and at its table there are triton, mermaids, a sea dog and sea creatures.
Fonntana Neptune is a symbol of Gdańsk's relationship with the sea and she is the most beautiful person in Gdańsk.
