Year 4

Clouds pattern

We have lots of exciting topics in Year 4. We will start the year by learning all about the Anglo-Saxons in "Treasure Seekers". We will discover where they came from, how they lived and what happened to some very big historical people... We will also learn all about Vikings in our topic "Raiders". We will get to explore Viking battles and how they became so powerful... In "Junior Medics" we will take on the important job of doctor and learn all about bodies and health. We will also learn about teeth and how different animals need different types of teeth. "Avengers Assemble" is one of my favourite topics of the year as we get to explore electricity and make our own electrical game! We will also think about the environment and the wider world in our topics "Wild Water" and "Environmental Engineers". Have a think over the Summer what you are excited to learn about. You could even see if you could come up with some questions that we could investigate together next year...

You will need your super smart uniform ready to go. This means: Blue v-neck school jumper Blue school shirt A school tie Grey skirt or trousers Grey, blue or white socks or tights Black flat shoes (not ankle boots or trainers)

On your PE day you will come into school wearing your PE kit. Blue shorts Plain navy joggers Pale blue tshirt/polo Black pumps or trainers St John's PE hoody

It is really important to bring your book bag every day. In your book bag you should have your reading books, your reading record and sometimes your homework book. Your teacher will tell you what day your homework book is due in in September. You also need to bring in your own water bottle, this should be named clearly. You will need to take your water bottle home every day, clean it and bring it back fresh and full of water the next day!

You will come in through reception and go up the stairs

Over the holidays take some time to relax and have fun, you've worked really hard this year! Then you can make sure you do some times tables practise, spelling blast and lots of reading. See if you have any books at home about any of our topics!
