Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz, full name Juana Inés de Asbaje Ramírez de Santillana, was born in San Miguel Nepantla on November 12, 1651, and died on April 17, 1695 at the Convent of San Jerónimo during an epidemic. She was a poet, dramatist, scholar, and nun, an outstanding writer of the Latin American colonial period and of the Hispanic Baroque. She was considered the tenth muse
Sor Juana’s most important poem was the Primero sueño and it was published in A Sor Juana Anthology in1988.
