Head of School Welcome
Today in school, we gathered together to show our respects and honor those who serve our country and have fought for our freedom and values. I want to thank all of the children for behaving so beautifully during the assembly and two minute silence, demonstrating our school rule - Be Respectful. A special thank you also to our prefects who have been outside selling poppies this week and to Mrs Arnold who played The Last Post during our assembly.

Lest we forget.

Mrs G Hooper
Head of School

Anti-bullying week
Anti-bullying week is 13th to the 17th of November.
To kick off Anti-bullying week, we will be holding an odd socks day on Monday. The aim of this is to celebrate ways in which we are all unique.
Throughout the week, each class will learn more about bullying and how to be good friends to one another.

On Thursday 16th of November, we have a parent information session planned. This will be delivered by Digital Learning Cornwall and will focus on how to keep children safe online. The meeting will be in the hall from 2.40pm. Please arrive from 2.30pm.
Children in Need
This year for Children in Need, we are inviting children to come to school with wacky hair!
Wider opportunities in school

Drama
We are pleased to inform you that Class 3 have started working with drama teacher, Mrs Iddon from Brannel school this half term. Mrs Iddon will be joining us at Whitemoor every other Tuesday to work with Class 3 on a drama project. The children will eventually be linking up with other schools in the clay area to create a performance at Brannel's Bell Theatre.

Music
In music news, our choir are now busy preparing for the St Austell Music Festival on the 29th of November. We were proud to win the small schools category in 2022 and look forward to taking part again this year. We are also pleased to have individual children from each class entering the spoken word category of the festival.

Sport
Well done to our football teams who have played really well in the matches so far this term. The children are now looking forward to playing Treverbyn on Tuesday 21st November. In addition to the next match, some selected children from Class 2 will be attending a Brannel multi-skills event on Thursday next week. Good luck to everyone involved.
