By Tudor IonCHAPTER 1
Whoosh! The fire twisted and twirled as it engulfed the royal huts down to the ground. Josti just stood and watched in perilous fear. Xavier, the clan leader, let out an aggressive howl and chased after him. He boldly bolted after him until Josti noticed that this was a place he has never been to before. He was lost.
1
He looked around. Xavier was running back. He noticed the most unusual place he had ever been, and he was to be there for a long time.
There he lay, devastated. He sat and stared at the leaf-colored ground. It was then something dropped on his head and fell to his feet. It was a chipmunk. It jumped up and hit Josti in the face. “Oh, sorry there, fella,” it blurted out. Josti was so shocked, he just stood there with his mouth open, aghast.
“Why is a big fella like you scared of a tiny chipmunk?” it bragged. “Hey, at least I’m more mentally strong!”

Josti was still very shocked. The chipmunk was still very confused. “What’s a wolf like you doing here in an aspen grove anyway?” he continued. “You live in the evergreen splotches behind us?”
“No. I live in a normal forest, next to an old farm. I was chased away by the leader because he thought I burnt down his hut,” he sputtered. “But I didn’t! It was Jeff, that crazy, old hound. I hate-“
”Never, ever, ever say ‘HATE’!” the chipmunk interrupted. “Think positively! Think about your new home! You’re welcome here!” Josti realized that this was his new home. He was happy. I can’t survive like this, with an energetic chipmunk, I say, Josti thought.

CHAPTER 2
“I made this home for any wanderer that came to this grove,” the chipmunk explained. “The rare Bald Cypress. With its wide trunk, a home can fit within it. This is your home now. What is your name, anyway?”
Josti felt embarrassed. “J-Josti?” he mumbled.
”Hey, don’t worry,” it exclaimed. “My name is Knawelorth Trapuski Allenrok Yillatia Binarit Littlewyie Blackenworthmanman XI. Outstanding, right? My short name is Lil’ Knaw or Knaw. My uncle calls me basically K. Don’t ever worry about your name. I could call ya’ somethin’ else."

Josti responded, “That’s a long name!”
”Yep!” Knaw acknowledged. “Amazing! Truly! The glory of nature! Breath, Josti! Breath! Ok, breath in the sweet and sometimes not poisonous smell of ivy.” Josti breathed in. “Smells good, right? That’s Plander ivy. Not rotten, though. Fresh. It helps you sleep.”
The little chipmunk had a shrill voice but a huge heart. His small ears showed that he was joyful and friendly. He had tiny gray stripes that came from his eyebrows, over high in between his ears and down low to his armpits. Josti thought he was special.
