The Eagle Tree by Mr. Klock The Eagle Nest Tree went down last night; Three eaglets lost scattered from the safety of their&nbsp;overturned cradle. Words in the phone rang achingly in my ear and my chest &nbsp;the tree seemed healthy, yet the winds were terrible and vicious; And the muddy earth had grown soft&nbsp; As rising seas push high tides higher, ever higher Was the Moon full last night? The Eagle Nest Tree went down last night; Parents nowhere to be found, Off to process loss in a way I guess only an eagle can&nbsp; Countless fights out to the open Bay Remnants of a fish dinner dutifully doled out&nbsp; To three begging chicks now lay scattered&nbsp; Among pine needles and nest sticks beneath the immensity Of the fallen Virginia pine

To Bake To bake or not to bake O for goodness sake Why not, I’m awake But first let me see What will it be Cookies, brownies&nbsp; Both sound great to me But a banana extravaganza it will be Dark chocolate chips Mmmm, I can taste them on my lips So let’s get out of bed It’s full steam ahead Let’s make banana chip bread&nbsp; By our baking poet, Mrs. Findley!
