Thank you Team Mossend This book showcases lots of the activities the children experienced from Term 4 of Session 2019/2020 linking to the Four Capacities of CfE. For this level of interaction with our children, staff signed up for a number of jobs over the course of the week including Team Moderator, Star Tracker, Presenting Live Lessons, Downloading and Creating activities, Twitter Moderator, Marking &amp; Feedback of submitted work, Accessing and Sending Passwords, Facilitating Staff CPD...there's really too much to mention. We would like to thank all the staff of Team Mossend because, without us all working together, this would not have been possible - Miss Brennan, Mrs Weir, Mrs Christie, Miss Callander, Mr Malik, Miss Tinto, Miss Simpson, Miss Marshall, Mrs Briggs, Miss Mullen, Miss Watson, Miss Graham, Mrs Gordon, Mrs F. McKay, Mrs L. Currie, Miss McIntyre, Mr Stewart, Mrs Johnston and Mrs Paterson our Head Teacher - she let us run with it and look what we achieved - Amazing! Thank you to Mrs Blevins, Mrs Martin, Mrs Smith, Mrs Brown &amp; Mrs Irons for supporting the school and creating a fantastic Nursery Zone full of age appropriate content for all of our girls and boys in the nursery. Calm Down Jars Miss Callander and Miss Marshall have been supporting the Health &amp; Wellbeing of our children with Emotion Works. Using Emotion Works, our children investigated the skills and strategies needed to make informed choices and decisions about how they have been feeling, their triggers and what they can do and use to help themselves. One such activity included our children designing and creating their own Calm Down jars thus demonstrating they are Responsible Citizens. Check out the videos below:

Pupils Leading the Learning One of our P7 pupils demonstrated she is an Effective Contributor by having good ideas by leading and recording an Arts and Crafts lesson to share on our school team. Lots of others completed this activity to create Fidgit Toy and uploaded their work. Check out the video below:

Logan took part in the Jurassic Park STEM lesson and then went onto use Digital Technology (ChatterPix app) to personify a toy dinosaur.

He then used science to freeze a dinosaur toy overnight and then gently crack open the ice to find the fossils. A bit like an archaeologist.

Stop, Think and Reflect A lot has happened in the last 12 weeks since we&nbsp;moved to online learning and all of our children have&nbsp;achieved&nbsp;many great things, but, sometimes you&nbsp;just need to stop and think back. We asked our children to take some time to&nbsp;stop and think back to what they had personally achieved.&nbsp; During the lesson they all had really thoughtful ideas and we had hoped that by taking the time to stop and think back on the last 12 weeks they would see how they ALL have been successful learners, confident individuals, responsible citizens and effective contributors - all the capacities of learning in Scotland. Over the next few pages we are delighted to share the individual reflective responses from our children. We are very proud of their achievements and their ability to recognise learning across the Four Capacities of Learning in CfE.

Scotland's approach Curriculum for Excellence places learners at the heart of education. At its centre are four fundamental capacities. These capacities reflect and recognise the lifelong nature of education and learning. The four capacities are aimed at helping children and young people to become:

Virtual Sports Week: 15th - 19th June 2020 Miss Callander did a fantastic job organising our Virtual Sports Day and, over the course of the week, various teachers including Mrs Johnston, Mr Reid, Miss Tinto &amp; Mrs Gordon demonstrated the Sports Day Activity of the day. Scotland's Curriculum - Curriculum for Excellence - helps our children and young people gain the knowledge , skills and attributes needed for life in the 21st Century.

Wall Challenge - Beat Mr Stewart The children had 30 seconds to record themselves throwing a ball underarm and catching it. The challenge was to see if they could beat the number of throws and catches by Mr Stewart. Our children demonstrated they are Confident Individuals by being healthy and even increasing the number of balls they used in the challenge! Check out the videos below:

Symmetrical Butterflies Each week our children take part in Arts &amp; Crafts activities relating to specific artists or linked to other areas of the curriculum. Recently, our children demonstrated their creativity by designing and making symmetrical butterflies. This activity was led by Miss Graham for Butterfly Awareness Day. We are super impressed by their efforts and can see they are most certainly Successful Learners.
