Hello !!! I am Ippokratis and I go to fourth grade. I live in Greece and to be more specific in its northern part , in a city called Thessaloniki. Actually, if I wanted to be even more exact I live in Efkarpia , which is on the western side of my city.

My name comes from ancient greek and it means " he who commands horses" but it is also a quite famous name since Ippokratis is considered the father of modern medicine.

I love living in Efkarpia,since it's an area where you can feel safe and go everywhere on foot .I even walk to school along with my friends.

SCHOOL

I go to the 1st Primary School of Efkarpia . It is a big school and we have around 400 students.

It is where I spend most of my day .It's where I learn lots of interesting things and where I become a better person . It's where I meet my friends and learn how to cooperate and share. Our teachers are always there for us , to guide and help us in everything.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE MY SCHOOL !

We have lots of subjects in our school . Language , Maths ,Science, Geography , History ,Religious Education which are taught by one teacher.
Other subjects such as Physical Education. ICT , English (as a second language ) ,German or French ( as a third Language), Music , Theatre and Art are taught by separate teachers.
My favourite subject is ICT and Physical Education but above all I love...RECESS!!!

SCHOOL

School starts at 8:15am and finishes at 1:15pm. After the obligatory programme , whoever wants can stay at school until 4pm.During that time , we have our lunch and then we do our homework.That means more free time when we get home..It's GREAT!

HOBBIES

All work and no play , makes Jack a dull boy...

I have lots of hobbies . One of them is cycling.I started cycling when I was six and it was my dad and my brother who introduced me to it.Ever since I started , I made lots of friends and won several medals . Although, it is a bit dangerous , I love it!

Apart from sports , I also enjoy drawing and learning foreign languages. I find drawing very relaxing and I love trying different techniques. As far as languages are concerned , I especially like Spanish which I am trying to learn on my own through computer courses.I love the spanish accent and I definitely want to visit Spain!

HOBBIES

My friends have lots of interesting hobbies too.

Theodora , wrestles which is quite unusual for a girl. Wrestling is a sport that goes way back to ancient Greece.There are two categories in wrestling: freestyle and grecoroman.Theodora,has great aspirations .

Alexandra,loves competitive dancing and has taken part in many competitions.She has been dancing since she was four.
Tanya , goes to gymnastics and her dream is to become a champion.
Finally , Eleni , has taken up tennis as she was inspired by Stefanos Tsitsipas , a famous Greek tennis player.

FOOD

Greece is a Mediterranean country and Greek people follow, to a great extent, the Mediterranean-style diet. Legumes, fruit, vegetables, dairy products, fish, meat and the most important ingredient, the olive oil which is produced almost in the entire country. Many households produce the annual family olive oil from homegrown olives.
The diet is adjusted, through the centuries, to the needs of the Greek Christian Orthodox religion. During the great Christian celebrations the believers abstain from certain kinds of food like meat, dairy products and olive oil.

Some of the Greeks' favourite foods are:

Legumes
We love bean soup, lentil soup, chick peas soup and fava very much.

Vegetables
We love vegetables like green beans, okras and peas cooked in an olive oil based sauce.
