The town of Tarsus/Mersin is located in Turkey. Located on the mouth of the Berdan River, which empties into the Mediterranean, Tarsus is a junction point between the Cilician plain and central Antolia. Tarsus/Mersin is a historic city in south-central Turkey. It is part of the Adana-Mersin metropolitan area, the fourth largest metropolitan area in Turkey with a population of 330 thousand people.
Tarsus/Mersin has a really rich history going back almost 8 thousand years. Tarsus/Mersin has long been an important stop for travelers and merchants and a focal pont for many civilisations. During the Roman Empire, Tarsus was the capital of the province of Cilicia.
Turkey is a transcontinental country whichis located in Eurasia and Middle east, Turkey is bordered by 8 countries: Greece, Bulgaria, Georgia, Armenia, Syria, Iraq, Iran and Azerbaijan. It is alse enclosed between 5 seas the Black sea and the Mediterranean sea. At various points of the Turkish history It's land has been home to many civilisations.
Turkey also has a lot of old castles and buildings. Turkey is a charter member of the UN and NATO. Turkeys English name means “land of the turks“. Turkish culture is really diverse it is a blend of many other cultures which have lived there during its time. Turkish culture is a product of efforts to be a
"modern" Western state, while maintaining traditional religious and historical values.
