TravelogueEntry 267: April 19th. My name is Jacques Cartier. The year is 1534. The king wishes for me to find a new route to the wealthy markets in Asia. I have never been more excited!
Entry 268: April 20th. Today we departed from France and set sail to search for the new route. With my trusty ship and loyal crew, nothing can stop me. This ship is used, so the logbook has multiple entries already. I feel at home.
Entry 269: May 10th. I landed on the beach of a new land, but we haven’t decided what to call it. The tools that were given to us by the king have proved quite useful. My trusty compass is my personal favourite. It’s portable and easy to use. The astrolabe is my crew’s favourite, as they often enjoy looking at the stars. There is also a new instrument using wooden rods that I have heard of, but it’s still being developed. Using these tools, I sailed across the sea without complications.
