Albert Einstein was born in Ulm, Germany. As a child, the prodigy enjoyed solving math riddles and building skyscrapers out of playing cards.
Even as a young boy, Einstein showed he had a great mind for maths and physics. During his lifetime, Albert Einstein came up with some amazing theories about light, matter, gravity, space and time and soon enjoyed world-wide fame!
When Einstein was 15, his family moved to Milan in Italy. From there he attended the Polytechnic Academy in the Swiss city of Zurich. In 1900 Einstein graduated with a degree in physics and maths.
Einstein is probably most famous for his ‘theory of relativity’ and the equation he made famous, e=mc².
On April 18 1955, Albert Einstein died at the age of 76 from heart failure.

Marie Curie was born in Warsaw, Poland, on 7th November 1867. She was born Maria Salomea Sklodowska, but adopted her French husband's name, Curie.
Marie Curie's parents were both teachers. They taught her to value knowledge and help others. She was the youngest of five children.
She was the first woman to win a Nobel prize and the only person to win Nobel prizes in two different sciences: physics and chemistry. Marie Curie discovered radioactivity.
She named the element 'polonium' after Poland.
Marie Curie died on 4th July 1934 in France. Her death certificate states that she died of 'aplastic anemia', which is a blood disease. This was caused by her long-term exposure to radiation.
