Class 5 spring 2 learning journey

We visited the canal at Rimrose Valley.  We know and understand the importance of preventing accidents.  We talked about water safety and how the canal is an unsafe place because we cannot see the bottom and we do not know what is in there.

We looked at the differences between a tree in autumn and in winter.

We learnt about the importance of preventing accidents.&nbsp;We have learnt about what an accident is and how we can stop it from happening.

We know that washing our hands thoroughly prevents the spread of germs. <br/>  

We know how to use difference sources to find out about the past including books, photographs, artefacts and the internet. 

We used BBC weather to look at the daily weather and recorded it on a chart using weather symbols. We know that weather changes with the seasons.

We have weaved using different materials.

We have been learning a dance all about "Noah's Ark".

We have used part whole diagrams in our lessons.

Number lines help us to add and subtract.

We have looked at the weather in the United Kingdom.  We have been filling in our class weather diary.

We have been learning to play African drums.  We have looked at pulse and used this to help us play together.

We have used warm colours to create a repeating pattern.

In Design Technology we tasted fruit to see what we wanted to put in our fruit salad.  We carried out some market research in our class to find out about the most popular fruit.  We planned what our fruit salad would look like and made it using our preferred fruit, trying to include 5 fruits and make it look delicious!   We evaluated our product once we had made and eaten it.

We visited Rimrose Valley to look for signs of spring.

In PE we have learned how to spin and balance.

In PE Dedee helped us to be responsible around water so that we keep ourselves safe.

We looked at medicine and how to keep safe around medicines. A grown up should only give us medicine.  We should never take tablets that we find on the floor or a friend gives us.

We Know who Jane Goodall is and that she worked in Africa as a primatologist.  We sequenced Jane Goodall’s life on a timeline.

We have been learning that we can use lots of different strategies to solve addition equations.
