The School Dance Heist!

"Oh, um, okay then." Everyone was dancing while Jiji and Sydney were sat bored on the bleachers. Sydney tapped Jiji on the shoulder, "Hey." Jiji noticed. "Heyo." "Do you want to dance with me?" "You didn't even have to ask." As soon as they got into dance formation, the lights shut off. In a panic, the crowd went nervous. There was a dead silence. The lights turned back on and you could see everyone shaking in fear. A security guard yelled, "The Crown Award is gone!" Derren came back with a smirk on his face. He walked over to Sydney and Jiji, with his hands on their shoulders, "What's wrong?" Jiji stood in utter shock, "T-the Crown Award is m-missing.." "Hm? You mean the thing on the stand?" "Y-yeah. We need to investigate."

Sydney dragged Sid and Mitsuki out of the photo booth. Jiji, Sydney, Mitsuki, Sid, and Derren huddled up. "We have to think of the possibilities," Jiji explained. "Everybody was either in the bathroom, dancing, taking photos, or chatting." Derren shrugged, "Could there be a rogue security guard?" The principal, Ms. Kaiser, stepped out. "Mr. Derren Fishwalzer. You are going to stay in detention for 2 weeks." Derren was in pure shock, "W-what do you mean? I did nothing wrong!" Sydney put her shoulder over Jiji, "Ms. Kaiser? I'm confused. Did he do something?" Ms. Kaiser cleared her throat, "While the security cameras were on, Mr. Fishwalzer turned off the lights then proceeded to steal the Crown Award." He started backing up slowly, "W-whaat? I-I wouldn't do that!" One of the security guards came from the hallway, "We found the award stuffed in Mr. Fishwalzer's locker." The squad was surprised. Jiji spoke, "Derren...Goodbye." "Wait!" he called. But he was too late. The squad had left together. The end.

A few moments later, the day turned to dusk. Everyone was ready. Derren and Jiji in suits, Sid wearing a half dress, half suit, the rest wearing dresses. Every senior was there either chatting or posting photos on their Instagrams. Mitsuki put her hands on her hips, "This is a lot of people. This is too risky. Someone can take the Crown Award." "I don't think we should worry about it," Derren responded. "The security is pretty well divided." Jiji scoffed, "Pfft. What security? You mean the middle-aged men chugging fruit punch and eating corndogs?" Everyone giggled and the music continued. Sid and Mitsuki went to the photo booth. "Hey Derren," Sydney called. "Wanna play two truths and lie with Jiji and I?" Derren put his hand on the back of his neck, "Sorry but I think I need to use the restroom."

The bell rang. The sound ringing through the student's ears. Jiji and her friends, Sid, Sydney, and Mitsuki, walked out of Biology together. Sid put her hands over her eyes, "Oh I totally failed that test...My dad's going to kill me." Sydney put her hand over her mouth, "You definitely did." "Not helping!" Derren, their other friend, came from the English classroom, "What's up with the gloomy face Sid?" Sid jumped in surprise, "Derren! My only supportive friend!" Mitsuki glared at her with a 'do I mean nothing to you?' face. Jiji snickered. Sid blushed in embarrassment, "Quiet!" They passed the lunchroom and walked out of the school gates with backpacks and books in hand. Derren crossed his arms in thought, "Did you guys hear about the school dance?" Jiji raised her eyebrow, "School dance??"

"Yeah!" Derren smiled. "I heard the school's going to put up the Crown Award." Mitsuki was shocked, "Isn't that thing worth 15 thousand dollars???" "True. It must be a big risk but oh well. Since the dance is tonight-" Sid's face went pale, "Tonight?!? But- That's too soon." "Don't worry," Deren explained, "It's at 7:00 so we have time." The squad went to their respective homes. Jiji spent the night thinking. "Do I really want to go? I don't even own dresses." Everyone else was ecstatic. Sid was begging her father to go even with her bad grades. Jiji was desperately searching for a dress. Derren was choosing between a cat bowtie or a green bowtie. Sydney was preparing eye contacts. Mitsuki was doing her hair.
