Castles

Battlements are on the top of the castle, people in the castle can hide behind them if someone shoots them.

A robber would shoot the castle to get gold.

The people in the castle shoot from the battlements.

Battlements were used to guard the castle.

Enemies swim across the moat and people in the castle shoot arrows at them.

In the moat they have spikes and weeds to stop people getting across.

In a castle the toilets were very small and dirty and didn’t have a flush.  The portcullis stopped enemies getting into the castle.

The drawbridge goes up and down and closes so the bad guys can't get in!

Castles don't have big windows, so they can't put their arrows through them when people shoot from a distance.

Castles are on hills because if baddies try to shoot them they can't reach them. 

Castles are made from hard rock to defend themselves so if an arrow hits it they bounce back. 

In the dungeon they keep a dragon.  Castles have a drawbridge.

Baddies cant see in because of the small windows.

When you hide in castles you can hide in the bailey so you don't get shot by an arrow.

A castle is very big and it's got a window so if people are trying to shoot,they can duck under them.

Castles have battlements, a moat, a drawbridge and arrow loops.

If the castle is attacked the enemy can't see them because the battlements are up high.

The drawbridge can be put down for people to cross, and pulled up so bad people can’t get in. 

Arrow slits in the wall let arrows go through but the enemy can’t see the people in the castle.

The castle has very thick walls so there is a lot of rocks to get through.
