GRADES K - 3

VIRTUAL MEETINGS We will meet as a group at the beginning of every class.

Lessons Many of the art activities will be projects that will offer instant success. Lessons will be explained during our meeting time, along with demonstrations. ALL lessons for all grade levels will be in eBooks like my Guide to Art. Books will be in Seesaw activities. The virtual books are great ways to go back to the lesson concept, view additional resources and see step by step directives for art projects.

DUE DATES Activities will be in Seesaw. Projects will have an assigned due date. I promise I will allow ample time for projects to be completed. To turn in, do the activity or take a photograph of completed project and submit to Seesaw.

Grades K-3 Projects will be graded on completion, creativity, craftmanship, composition (use of space), and following direction. NOTE: Not all categories may apply to all projects. Grades 1-3- Each category based on 5 points Grade K- Each category based on check mark system

Grades K-3 Introduction- All about eBooks, materials, projects Collages- ALL About Me! Lines and Primary Colors- Mondrian Colors and Colorwheel- Alma Thomas

Grades 4-8 Collages- ALL About Me Inspirational Artists- Romare Bearden, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Hannah Hoch, Faith Ringgold and Jim Petric. Sketch Book The Daily Question- Will be graded and used as attendance.

August 31,2020 Dear Tremont Families, I hope this letter finds you well, even during these uncertain times. I pray that strength and patience will be granted to help manage navigating your scholars through remote learning. As you know, we will be apart for another 9 weeks. I miss all my students and look forward to seeing them in the near future. Please know that I will do my best to keep art class as stress free as possible while we are in virtual learning. I will work with you to achieve success. Keep in mind art will... *provide an outlet and escape for your scholar! *strengthen real-world problem solving- "A-HA" moments. *create a vehicle for family connections. This is the Virtual Art Room. During lessons, scholars will be able to link to books, art works and videos to help enrich their learning.

Materials....

I will supply the following for the grades listed: K/141- 1 small cardboard circle for a color wheel, thin black strips, a few sheets of white paper, colored paper placemat

Rooms 222-224- Large carboard circle for a color wheel, thin black strips, a few sheets of paper, 1 colored paper placemat.

326 and 324- Large cardboard circle for a color wheel, plastic purple tool for practicing symmetry, a few sheets of paper.

CMSD ART SUPPLIES

Grades 1-8- CMSD materials TBA

CMSD will be providing art supplies for each scholar. Check the CMSD website for information. Delivery of supplies TBA.

GRADES 4-8 1. Go to TEAMS for class meetings at assigned time. 2. Assignments will be in Schoology. Assignments with project directions, links to artists and videos will be in eBooks, like this one. You can look at them for information as well as review. I will ask through out the week for students to show daily progression of projects in our meetings. Student Grades- Daily Question- 4 points, Projects- 20 points, Sketchbook-10 points Grades 4-8 will need to submit an answer to the daily question by 4:00 pm at the end of the school day for a grade. DUE Dates- Sunday of your encore week. Submit a photograph of the completed project through Schoology. IF you miss a meeting or deadline, please contact me. I will work with you! CLASS SCHEDULE You will have the same encore for a week and then rotate to other encores. You will rotate twice through art, gym, sign language and music. Every 4th week.
