Dear readers,
this e-book is created by class 9d of the Helene-Lange Gymnasium in Fürth, Germany. Due to the outbreak of Covid-19 in Germany, schools have been closed and people were asked to stay at home. This e-book is a collection of impressions and experiences the students had during the time of school closure. The situation has affected the life of many people in a negative way.
Not only did the pandemic cause unemployment and financial instability, but it also resulted in some of us losing loved ones. The students of 9d are aware of all the negative consequences of the pandemic.
However, this e-book focuses more on the positive side-effects of the lockdown. It is supposed to show people ways of turning this crisis into an opportunity.
Since the e-book is the outcome of a method which can be practically applied during a school closure and online lessons, the e-book itself can be seen as a atmept to turn this crisis into an opportunity.

For experienced investors, the rampant financial virus is an old acquaintance. Whether it was the oil crisis in the 1970s, the imbalance of the Long-Term Capital Fund in 1998, the dot-com bubble (2000), the financial crisis (2008) or the euro crisis (2010): Share prices always rush south with vehemence as if the end of the world was near. Corona affects restaurants and shops:
A lot of shops and restaurants have to close, because of the Corona crisis. But is this really such a
problem? Is this maybe good for us?
So many shops have to close, for example “Hornbach” (German: DIY superstore), “Mediamarkt” (German: Electronic retailer) and similar ones.
On the one side, some people might be happy because they can stay home and don’t have to go to work. But on the other side, the employers of the company have many problems with this. They must pay the workers and also often they have to pay the rent of the company. The problem here is that the shop has no earnings and the employers have to continue paying the other things.
Restaurant operators have the same problem as these shop owners.
Restaurants were one of the first businesses, which had to be closed because of the virus.
In the USA, for example, 3% of all restaurants will close forever, so 7 million people will lose their jobs.
Because the operators can’t pay so much money without any earnings. If nothing changes, many
people will lose their jobs because of the virus. >>

At least we don’t know for sure if the restaurants chains must close forever or if they can reopen soon. A lot of people might lose their jobs, together it would be 11.000 jobs that might be lost at Maredo and Vapiano.

Corona and the world of sports
Because of the corona virus, the worlds of football and the Olympic Games are completely upside down. Current competitions were interrupted immediately and future events such as the European Football Championship, which was supposed to take place in 2020, got cancelled. This procedure is the only logical consequence, since the constant body contact of the athletes would accelerate the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
The Covid-19 virus also has a major impact on individual athletes. As a result of the complete elimination of the training sessions of the athletes, the participants suffer a huge performance backlog. The situation is even worse for the athletes who got infected with the virus because of daily physical contact. One of them is the football player "Paulo Dybala".
