Early life
Orphans at age 7 Walker lived with her older sister And the two worked in the cotton fields
Later life
Walker and McWilliams married in 1882 three years later, they had a daughter, Lelia McWilliams, whose name was changed to A'Lelia Walker. The marriage ultimately dissolved in 1887,Sarah remarried in 1894, but left her second husband, John Davis, around 1903. In January 1906, Sarah married Charles Joseph Walker. Through this marriage, she became known as Madam C. J. Walker.
