Your uniform should be super smart! You will need: A blue jumper A blue shirt A school tie A grey skirt, trousers or dress Grey, blue or white socks/tights Black school shoes Please make sure everything has a name on it!

You will need a P.E. kit Blue shorts Plain navy joggers and navy sweatshirt Pale blue t-shirt/polo Pumps You can now also wear the school's new hoodie!

You will need to bring your book bag to school every day. You can keep it in your drawer. Inside your bag you will keep your reading books and your homework book.

In the morning, you will have a fruity snack! You will also have the option to pay for milk.

At lunch, you can choose your own food. We offer meat, halal meat and a vegetarian option. You can help yourself to the salad bar too.

You also need to bring your own water bottle from home every day. Fill it up with water at home.

Topics in Year 2 What Will I learn?

Health Heroes We'll explore lots of different ways to keep healthy and exercise. We must learn more about our bodies and what they need. Get ready to read and follow some healthy snack recipes!

Firefighters We will learn to work as historians, using evidence to find out about The Great Fire of London and the Plague. We will also think carefully about fire safety and how to protect ourselves.

Let's Go Engineering We'll become scientists, testing materials and carrying out fair experiments, using ice, penguins and shelters! We will also travel to Antarctica and as geographers, learn all about that part of the world.

Superheroes Prepare to use your enquiry skills to research some cool famous people, including Neil Armstrong, Christopher Columbus and Florence Nightingale. As historians and geographers, we'll discover lots of inspirational people. We'll also try some Roy Lichtenstein art techniques from Pop Art.

Does Chocolate Grow on Trees? Get ready to travel to Mexico and discover where chocolate comes from! We'll learn all about the Aztecs and the Cadbury family in Bournville. We'll also visit Cadbury World and have so much fun eating chocolate!

Suitcases and Sandcastles I do like to be beside the seaside! We'll enjoy some ice cream and build sandcastles. We will learn all about summer holidays in Victorian times and compare them to holidays now. As geographers, we need to study maps and features of a coastal landscape.

D and T Week During our Design and Technology Week, we will investigate ways of using materials to construct a roly poly toy for a baby. We will test them out and evaluate our designs.

Go Wild We are off to Australia! We will cover science, history, geography and art as we discover facts about this amazing country, its animals and habitats.
