Sofie og Rasmus  i Rwanda

Fokus på børn og unges aktive, frivillige indsats for at forhindre, at elever i Rwanda dropper ud af skolen. I to distrikter i Rwanda, Ngororero og Kayonza, arbejder skoleelever, studerende, unge mentorer, rollemodeller og andre unge ledere sammen med skoleledere, kirkelige ledere, forældre og lokale ledere om at forhindre drop-outs og om at takle problemer omkring vold, børnegraviditeter, seksuelle overgreb, misbrug, børnearbejde og børn med handikap. Projektet, som kaldes Tugane Ishuri (Curbe School Dropout Through Volunteerism Initiative), har implementeret forskellige initiativer, hvor børn og unge er hovedaktører. Sofie og Rasmus vil gennem en uge interagere med børn, som er aktive i en Tugane Ishuri klub i en af de to provinser. Hensigten med projektet i Rwanda er at få børn til at blive i skolen og at bygge bro mellem individet, lokalsamfundet og landet og at øve koblingen mellem rettigheder og ansvar for sin egen fremtid.

RWANDA 17 - Healing a Nation

RWANDA-17 is an inspiring documentary to learn important lessons about reconciliation after the 1994 genocide. The film tells the story of teenage African footballers from war torn Rwanda who managed to qualify for the 2011 Under-17 World Cup in Mexico. They are the first Rwandans who reach the level of world-class football. Their story is a metaphor of Rwanda's breathtaking evolution and shows how the success of young footballers - all born after the 1994 genocide - can re-unite a nation and inspire hope for reconciliation, development and a better future.

The genocide in Rwanda happened in 1994. I was in Rwanda during the genocide. From April the 10th and then on and off until the genocide ended after a 100 days. This film I made in 2008. It was aired in Denmark in April 2009. This is "Directors cut" finished i 2010. Some 12 minutes longer than the Danish version. I went back in my own "foot steps" to recreate some of the horror and meet some of the survivors. If you have the guts to watch this film you will meet four brave people who against all odds made it through Hell. Rose, the main character, tells the most horrifying story any one has ever told on this planet. The film is not for kids and not for people who cannot stomach blood. I have uploaded it on the day where the Rwandan people are commemorating the genocide of 1994.&nbsp; I am not English native speaking so you have to bear with my accent - I could not use another to do the narration, since the story is just a bit personal as well.
