On 10th December, 1932, our school started teaching and training with a name of Nazilli Centre Secondary School and ,in 1979,moved to the new building we use now because our old school was not big enough for us.In 1982 its name changed into Nazilli Atatürk Primary School and in 1989 into Nazilli Atatürk High School.In 1994 it became Foreign Language Focused Nazilli Atatürk High School.In 2009, it keeps teaching as Nazilli Atatürk Anatolian High School. Our school has a library, a hall ,a canteen, an ICT room and playing fields for football,basketball&nbsp;and volleyball. You can also play badminton and table tennis. It is located on the busy Barbaros Avenue by the Bosphorus in Besiktas, which is the leading culture, art, and education capital and district of Istanbul. We can even say it’s in the heart of the city. There are two big universities called Yıldız Technical University (YTÜ) and Bahçeşehir University (BAU) nearby. The school has a legal protocol with YTÜ and has the benefit of cooperating with the academicians in its extracurricular activities. Besides, the young people areas such as Besiktas Culture Center, Istanbul Modern, and Naval Museums, there are many downtown areas nearby rooted in traditional Turkish culture. The environmental theme is a priority of our time. Agenda 2030 goals are still far from being reached and just 9 years are left to do something important to fight pollution, climate change and overshooting. Students may think that this problem shoud be solved by the Big people who rule the world, but this is untrue. Every single persone should be responsible of his/her actions to make the world a better place from an ecological point of view. This project aims to increase and develop our students’ awareness about the need to be more responsible from an environmental point of view. We want to start from the idea that we don’t have a Planet B and time is over: we need to change our daily habits becoming more eco-friendly citizens in order to give a positive footprint on our planet. We want to start from the small things we can do at home and at school, to pass later to the exploration of what shoud be done in terms of clean Energy for a cleaner planet worldwide.

There’s a very low percentage of students with special needs. The school is endowed with a free Wi-Fi connection. Different multimedia and digital tools are also available. All classrooms are provided with smart boards. There is also an IT – Robotics and Coding, Physics, Chemistry and Biology Laboratories,and a big conference hall with 750 seats. ACTIVITY N 2: ANSWERGARDEN: COLLABORATIVE DISCUSSION ABOUT WHAT WE DO AT HOME IN ORDER TO BE MORE SUSTAINABLE

DESCRIPTION Kabataş Erkek Lisesi is a local secondary state school whose roots go back to 1908 and it is currently undergoing the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) School. It is located on the busy Çırağan Avenue by the Bosphorus in Besiktas, which is the leading culture, art, and education capital and district of Istanbul in Turkey. Epitomizing the notion of being a melting pot, Kabataş Erkek Lisesi hosts students from a diverse range of cultural backgrounds and the intersection area of these students is their flair for both curricular and cocurricular activities. We keep fostering bonds with schools from 12 countries in 4 continents via sister school protocols which have a significant and positive effect on&nbsp;the&nbsp;global awareness and attitudes&nbsp;of our&nbsp;students. Complex of Technical Schools No. 1 (ZST) is located in Chorzów, Silesia. The complex was created in 1961 on the basis of a mining school. Since then, the school has undergone a number of transformations stemming largely from the changes in the Polish educational system and from socioeconomic environment. Particularly in recent years there have been many continuous education profiles adaptations to the labour market. The aim of the school is to educate our students in different vocational professions and to prepare students for the variety of future technical jobs. The school includes an Electronic Technical School and a VocationalSchool.

AGENDA 2030: GOALS 6,7,11,12,13,14,15: We started our project studying these goals about Agenda 2030. Students realized posters about them. HEAL THE WORLD: MY HOUSE: we created videos about the importance of being sustainable at home HEAL THE WORLD: MY SCHOOL: we shared among each other what we do as schools to try to reduce the environment issues. There are currently 573 students, 57 teachers, 3 administrators (a principal and two vice principals), 3 janitors, 2 security guards, 1 librarian, and 1 officer in our school. The students are aged between 14-19. In the Turkish education system, there is a nationwide secondary school entrance exam that students have to take in their last year of middle school. They choose their high schools according to their scores they get from that exam. Since our school is ranked as one of the top schools in Turkey, the students have to take the highest scores to be placed in the school. Therefore, the students are academically highly competitive and successful.&nbsp;Relatedly, we also have certified 27 gifted students in different areas such as Maths, Arts, Music, and Science. The grades in the school start with the English language-based preparatory year in which students take 20 hours of English classes. There are between A2 to B1+ level students in the preparatory classes. Together with the English Language classes, the students also take the German Language classes as a second foreign language. Turkish Language, Maths, IT, Physical Education, Music and Visual Arts are the other compulsory subjects in the preparatory classes. There is also one hour for the counseling class per week.&nbsp;After completing the prep class, they continue with the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades with compulsory and elective courses in each grade in total weekly 40 hours. There are science and social studies subjects together with English as a main foreign language and German as a second foreign language which are compulsory for all students in all grades. When the students are in 10th grade, they have the chance to take the IBDP entrance exam which is not compulsory but optional and according to their scores, they are accepted to the program. Students choose their majors in the 11th grade, either science or social studies-based. When we look at the yearly reports, it can be said that mainly science-based majors are chosen at the school.&nbsp;
