WHAT IS GAME DESIGN?
WHAT MAKES A GOOD GAME DESIGN?

WHAT MAKES A GOOD GAME DESIGN?
Good game design requires consideration of how well users will be able to play your game and how much enjoyment users will get out of your game. You must perfect every aspect of your game to make the optimal user experience.

ELEMENTS OF GAME DESIGN
OBJECTIVES
There are many elements of game design that game designers must consider. Some of the major elements are the constraining measures, strategy, fun, and pacing. Some other elements are the character, story, payoffs, art, sound, and difficulty of the game. Not all elements need to be considered in every game, but every game has elements that need to be carefully planned.
OBJECTIVES
The objective of game design is to create fun, interactive experiences for people to use to put themselves in a different world and be whoever they want to be. Determining the objectives of a game allows designers to optimize the game to a users wants and needs.

CONSTRAINING MEASURES
STRATEGY
Constraining measures are used to prevent a player from having complete freedom within a game. Complete freedom would allow players to do things in the game not intended by the developer. Constraining measures can also add difficulty to a game by restricting a player during a challenge which makes it more rewarding when a player completes it. Examples of constraining measures are boundaries in an area and restrictions to the character's abilities.
