In this book, you are going to learn about, what a concussion is. We will see inside the brain to see what happens, when you get a concussion. We will also learn about, how we can treat it and what we need to be aware of.

1. What is a concussion?

A concussion is a brain injury. If you have a concussion, you have difficulties to sleep and when you sleep, you can not wake up. A concussion can change the way you think and feel.You can’t see concussion as it all happens inside your brain, but there are small chances, that you are bleeding in your brain which is very dangerous. If you have one concussion most lately, you can get more concussions easily.

2. What causes concussions?

If you have a car accident or something, you most lately you have a concussion, because you shake your head very fast, and the means your brain is shaking too, so you have a concussion.

If you fall very hard on the floor, you get a concussion this happens mostly, if you play a contact sport.

3.What happens inside the brain, when people have a concussion?

It changes the way you think and feel.You feel confused and you see everything double. You will also feel headache, dizziness and your memory is also very bad

4. How can this be treated?

We need to rest. Don’t look at electrical things like video games, a phone, TV etc. You should not read, do your homework, do not do any school tasks or school tests etc.

You have to avoid physical activities like sport, running around, jumping etc.

Listen carefully to the doctor and follow his advice. If you need to take any medicine, you should follow that and not forget about it.

5.How can we help other people if they have a concussion?

We can help other, if they have a concussion by asking them questions, such as how are you feeling? Can you see every thing alright? Can you sleep without trouble? Do you feel dizzy etc.

You can help others, who have a concussion by bringing then to sleep, not letting them use electrical stuff or do there homework. Don't bring them to school or preschool etc. If you feel very bad, then you need to go to the doctor.
