EAL Project
The EAL Project is designed to give support and guidance to those staff involved in the admission and induction of students with English as an Additional Language.

It contains key information and strategies for teachers with the aim of giving a consistent approach to the admission and induction procedures.

This course costs £500 based on minimum of 12 schools to cover training costs.

1. Key factors affecting new arrival EAL students

2. Looking at school systems and procedures for new arrivals

3. Admission process. First day - first 2 weeks

4. Approaches into induction teaching

Talk and Tours - SEND
Alpha Teaching School Hub are proud to partner with Lexden Springs to offer advice in planning, differentiating and personalising of the curriculum for particular SEND students within your school. You are invited to attend a tour of the school, viewing resources and classroom practice.

The course costs £50 per person.

Areas may include developing personalised targets, maximising the use of TAs, using and modelling of particular specialised resources - such as social stories, visual timetables, objects of reference and colourful semantics, advice on EHCPs, person-centered planning and reflecting on what works well.

SEND Solutions
This is a half termly programme for all class teachers in schools with specific focus on needs and wanting support. The sessions run for 45 mins from 16.00 -16.45 and concentrates on successful strategies to share within your setting. The sessions will be held at Lexden Springs school.

ADHD - 17th May
Communication and Social Interaction - 19th May
Cognition and Learning - 24th May
Sensory and Physical Needs - 21st June

This programme costs £50 per person or £200 per school for access to all sessions.

You will have opportunities to explore the potential issues in your class setting and strategies to consider. There will be options of break out rooms to share good practice and be solution focused. We ask that for this training you have in mind 1 or 2 students and a scenario where a strategy did or did not go according to plan to share in the discussion.
