WHAT IS DNA?
DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid.

It is in every cell of every living thing.

DNA is found in structures of the cell called chromosomes.
CHROMOSOMES
Whole DNA is contained in the cell nucleus where it forms highly compressed structures called chromosomes. Human beings have 23 pairs of chromosomes for a total of 46 choromosomes.
I CROMOSOMI
The DNA molecules carry the genetic code that determines the characteristics of a living thing.

Each piece of information is carried on a different section of the DNA called gene.

All humans have the same genes arranged in the same horder; and more than 99, 9% of our DNA sequence is the same.
But the few differences between us are enough to make each one of us unique.
DNA has a very complex structure.

It is made of chemical substances that are linked together like a chain.
