"Go to Sleep Gilbert!"

Gilbert glided noisily from tree to tree. 

The gliders and the tree kangaroos, started to grumble. 

It was sunrise, and he was still wide awake. 

"Does anyone want to play?!" He shouted down the tree.

"GO TO SLEEP GILBERT!" they all shouted back.

Suddenly a sharp smell hit Gilbert's nose.

With their old home destroyed, the animals decided... 

to move to the unburned patch of forest!

Gilbert glides noisily from tree to tree.

Gilbert felt happier than he'd ever felt in his entire life.

He led everyone towards it, landing safely in the canopies. 

"Three cheers for Gilbert!" Tommy cried. "He saved us all!"

"Everyone!" he yelled down the tree.

"Go to sleep Gilbert!" the whole canopy chorused.

But luckily for them, they could hear Gilbert's strong voice, and all the noise he was making.

In the distance, Gilbert saw a patch of forest that the fire hadn't burned.

Gilbert turned to the other animals, "Come and play!" he said. 

"Go to sleep Gilbert!" the animals said "We don't want to play!"

Gilbert woke his friend, Tommy the tree kangaroo, "Come and play!" he said. "Go to sleep Gilbert!" Tommy said, "I don't want to play!"

With Gilbert in the lead, the animals hopped, jumped, and glided from the hot tongue of the fire.

The younger ones couldn't see through all the smoke!
