Francesco Filosa&nbsp; He was born in Castellammare di Stabia on 20 October 1910 in an ancient family of painters and decorators. After the very first experiences, matured together with his father, he opened up to the artistic forms of the twentieth century.

Annibale Ruccello born on 7 February 1956 in Castellammare di Stabia. He attended the Plinio Seniore Classical High School in Castellammare di Stabia,after graduating&nbsp;with honors in philosophy at the university of Naples. His first work was&nbsp;il Rione, which tells the story of an infamous district of Castellammare in the period before Christmas.

Michele Esposito was born at Castellammare di Stabia.Teacher, pianist and conductor.Esposito became chief pianoforte professor at the Royal Irish Academyof Music in 1882, and remained there for more than forty years, devoting himself to the encouragement of classical music in Dublin.&nbsp;

A most important feature near the entrance was the&nbsp;Lararium, which contained a shrine dedicated to the&nbsp;Lares, the household gods who protected the family. Food and libations were placed in front of their images and alongside were kept wax ancestor portraits.

The front door led into the atrium, a large central hall open at the roof. Around the atrium the other rooms of the house were located: the bedrooms (cubicula), the servants’ quarters, the dining rooms (triclinia) and living rooms.

THE MONUMENT OF THE RESISTANCE and THE ALLEGORY OF STABIAE by the T-rex group&nbsp;

The monument is on the seafront of Castellammare di Stabia. From the cassarmonica walk past the Gran Caffè Napoli and then turn left. The statue is next to the arch of saint Catello. The bust was dedicated to Manfredi Talamo, a Stabiese military killed by the German soldiers during the II world war.&nbsp;

It symbolizes the city of Stabia, embodied by a woman, in the act of indicating Vesuvius, the volcano protagonist of dark pages of the city's history. She holds a baby to her breast, a symbol of the future and hope. We learn to love and protect our beautiful city, as a mother would do with her child. Behind her the "Medusa" head, she's escaping from that. The figure of the Medusa was found during excavation at san Marco's villa in Varano.&nbsp;&nbsp;

MUDDISS is&nbsp; in Piazza Giovanni XXIII opposite&nbsp; Palazzo Farnese, the Town Hall. The museum is opened to the public free of charge and houses part of the artifacts found during the extension works of the Cathedral between 1875-1879 &nbsp;The aim of this museum is to make accessible to the Stabiese people, tourists, students, to admire the archeological artifacts found under the cathedral. In that place it was found a late Roman and early Christian necropolis. Some oil lamps, a column full of “peach blossoms”, some column basis,some inscriptions dating back to different historical ages. The visit to the musem was very interesting and we had a great guide that explained us the artifacts inside.&nbsp;

PRINCE UMBERTO SQUARE &nbsp;

It is one of the historic squares of the town. Its nickname is Monumento square, because of the statue in the middle, or Quartuccio square, because in the past time there was a gate here. In 1299 people who wanted to carry their merchandises, had to pay some money (the quartuccio). In 1925 the artist Giuseppe Renda&nbsp;built this statue in honour of the death soldiers during the First World War. By Triceratops group

The "Gran Caffè Napoli" has become famous not only for its sweet specialties, but also for the presence of famous people who went there: as the philosopher, historian, and politician Benedetto Croce, the first President of the Republic Enrico De Nicola, the journalist and novelist Matilde Serao, the prince of Sant ' Antimo and Moliterno and many other exponents from the world of literature, politics and entertainment.

It was opened in 1850 with the name of “Caffè di Europa” at the Marina street, today's Via Bonito. The saint protector of Castellammare di Stabia.&nbsp; The story tells us that saint Catello was situated on the top of this arch because he stopped the destruction of the town from the eruption and the bombs during the wars.

The bandstand&nbsp;is a precious architectural work situated in “Villa Comunale”, the main park of the town that runs along the coastal strip for about one Km. It is situated just in front of Prince Umberto Square, near the “Gran Caffè Napoli”. It is made of iron and polychrome glasses. Its shape is polygonal. The four arches are surrounded by 12 columns in Spanish-Moorish style. It was built by Eugenio Cosenza on 9th April 1900. It's a symbol of the town and many people take a photo of it.

The emblem

At the bottom of this monument, there's the emblem. In the middle&nbsp;it is represented the Holy Virgin,&nbsp;a tower over the sea, a branch of olive and one of laurel all around these pictures, on the top there is a crown with nine points and the motto “Post fata resurgo” ( that means the rebirth of Stabia).The background is yellow and blue... the same colors of the local football team.&nbsp; By T-rex group

The Artists Avenue is in Villa Comunale public garden, near a playground for children. There are six busts of famous artists&nbsp;from Castellammare di Stabia. They are Raffaele Viviani, Annibale Ruccello, Italo Celoro, Luigi Denza, Michele Esposito, Ciro Madonna, Francesco Filosa, Giuseppe Bonito, Vincenzo D’Angelo.&nbsp;

The Fountain of the Tritons&nbsp;is a great fountain in Castellammare di Stabia . Its shape is&nbsp;round and it's&nbsp;surrounded by 6 tritons. In the middle there is a jet of water and all around it there are 4 others less "powerful" jets of water. The designer of the Fountain was made by Eugenio Cosenza in ‘900. I like it very much because I see the figure of the tritons as an invincible force that dominates the abyss of the sea. By the Velociraptors

Fontana Grande represents the first nucleus of the pre-Roman Stabia.At this source they followed the cult of the deum mater, as well as being the goddess of the woods and springs. She was especially honored at the healing waters, that is, at the thermal and mineral springs

THE FOUNTAIN OF THE ROWER &nbsp;is in the middle of the sea promenade, opposite the Fascio Palace. It was made by Antonio Gargiulo in 1997.In the basin there is a rower at the height of his athletic effort and it is the symbol of rowing here. The rower fountain has an oval shape,subdivided in three shapes: the central part is rectangular with two semicircles on the smaller size. I like it so much because I’m proud of the two Stabiesi athlets, the Abbagnale brothers,champions of rowing at the Olimpic games.

Villas were large farms with a big house for the owners. They had lots of servants and farm workers to help run the villa. What was a Roman family like? Life for women in Roman times was often hard. Women were expected to run the home, cook meals and raise children. Although in wealthy families, enslaved people often did this work. Many girls were married at the age of 14. Marriages were often&nbsp;arranged between families. A man could divorce his wife if she did not give birth to a son. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Gen Z is the name given to us, boys and girls, born between 1997 and 2012. Our age is from 9 to 24. Gen Z is familiar to new technology because we spend a lot of our time using different devices. Nowdays it's very important to know new technology but we must pay attention to lots of dangers hidden on line. The bad phenomena of cyberbulling is one of these dangers. Luigi Denza The song Funiculi Funiculà was composed in Castellammare di Stabia by&nbsp;him. He wrote many other pieces of music but that was his most popular song known all over the world. It was composed on occasion of the Piedigrotta festival to celebrate the inauguration of the Vesuvius funicular . The success was immediate, in just one year it sold a million copies, offering the musical world the model of a modern song.&nbsp;

ITALO CELORO was among the first in Castellammare to distinguish himself in the world of cinema and theater. As a theater actor we remember him in the comedy Padroni di Barche by Raffaele Viviani. In the cinema he already distinguished himself at the beginning of the 80s with the participation in many films directed by famous directors .He is remembered above all for the establishment of the CAT which he always directed with great skill.

Giuseppe Bonito was famous mainly for his popular works, he is one of the most representative painters , probably the most important of the southern Italy.
