Greece

The Olympic Games started in Greece in 776 BCE. People have lived in Greece for more than 5,000 years! Around 508 BC, Athens become the world's first known democracy.

There are four Countries around Greece. They are Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Turkey. There are Mountains in Greece, and they have volcanoes. Greece has a Mainland and many islands. Greeks live on 160 Islands. Some live on Crete Greece is Located in Europe the capital city of Greece is Athens.

Greek people like to eat feta cheese. It is made from sheep's milk or goat's milk. Baklava is a dessert with layers of honey and nuts. Greek eat seafood like octopus, lobster, squid and shrimp.

Greece's  flag is blue and white. The cross stands for the Greek Orthodox Church.
