THE LOST HORSE

I learnt from watching movies with horses, such as Heartland, that a horse can be trained by having it first become comfortable trotting and cantering over ground poles, then slowly working your way towards a small jump over a cross rail. Once it had become comfortable with this, you can begin incrementally increasing the height of the jumps. I did just that with Shimmer!

On a hot Sunday, during the summer, I went to the farm to see my three horses: shimmer, Scarlet and Alisa. Shimmer was a pale horse, Scarlet was a rainbow horse and Alisa was a white horse. Shimmer is my sunshine. She is as quiet as a mouse. Daily, I would patiently bathe, exercise and feed them. Then I would journey home.

Twinkle went first, her score was 8.33% that means that she was in 2nd place. Max came in 3rd place. Lios came in 4th place. Ashton came in 5th place. Mia came in 6th place. Mandy came in 7th place. Finally I came in first place!

Shimmer got better and better and became as agile as a monkey! Within a month with stall rest and medicine I was able to ride her again. I took it slow and steady. I was so amazed to see her again! Now that she’s as fit as a fiddle, I will do regular training to get her ready for a competition in horse jumping.

There I found her! I was so excited to see her but she was tangled in the barbed wires! I called my mom and dad to get the trailer. We brought her to the best veterinarian in town. Mr. John Mckreel was the talk of the town for helping horses.

He said that he would have to stop the bleeding by applying pressure on the wound using clean pieces of Gamgee roll or cartoon wolf, either held or bandaged in place until the bleeding has stopped. I trusted his expertise to do the best for my precious Shimmer!

When we got home we had a big celebration! There was a cake saying congratulations Shimmer, lots of cheering and balloons floating in the air! Also, family and friends joined the party.  We had fun in the sun!

      After all of that it was time for shimmer to take her medicine and go to bed as well as me. Finally we had a happy and successful journey.

The next morning, I went to check on my horses. I counted - one and two. Oh no! I gasped," Shimmer is gone!" I called my parents and my brother and told them what had happened.

We took the extra horses to go find shimmer while my brother stayed home with Scarlet and Alisa. We kept searching a million minutes until way the next morning. Then we got some rest.

At this competition we had to get 100% to win. There Shimmer and I saw the best horse jumpers in the world! Their names are Max, Twinkle, Lois, Mia, Mandy and Ashton. However, I knew my Shimmer was counted among them.I  was confident she would win!

The next morning we searched again! Now we thought of going to an abandoned field called The Western Training Field where there are fences and barb wires. We split up. I went north, dad went south and mom went East. ‘’ I can’t find her” I said, So I&nbsp;went west.

One Tuesday we got an invitation to a competition in India, Jabalpur. I was so happy when I heard! Since Shimmer and I have been training , we entered the competition right away!
