While in America, French explorers and British colonists from England were involved. Both were allies with the American Indians (Native Americans).
The British (England) declared war on the French (France) and their American Indian allies because they were fighting over land in the Ohio Valley.
Why did the French and Indian War happen?
The British and the French both wanted the land west of the Appalachian Mountains in the Ohio Valley.
