The French and Indian War took place in America, during the 1750s.

Why did the French and Indian War happen?

The British and the French both wanted the land west of the Appalachian Mountains in the Ohio Valley. 

1. The French and British were allies to the Native Americans. 2. The French respected and traded goods with the Native American Indians. 3. The British declared war on the French and Indians because they wanted to claim land west of the Appalachian Mountains (the Ohio Valley). 4. The British wanted the American colonists to pay for the war.
