In Year 5, we have been learning about Christianity and who Jesus was.
We spoke about Jesus as the Human and Divine and what he represents to Christians.
We also learnt about the importance of Jesus to Christians and what his life and death symbolized to Christians.
Finally, we looked at some of Jesus' acts of miracles and acts of healing.

What is divinity?
Divinity means being like a god. For example when Jesus healed people.
Jesus' Baptism
Jesus came to John the Baptist while he was baptising people in the River Jordan. As soon as Jesus was baptised, he came up out of the water. Heaven was opened and he saw the spirit of God descending. Then a voice said from heaven, “This is my own dear son with whom I am pleased.”
Jesus and Temptation
After being baptized by John the Baptist, Jesus was tempted by the devil after 40 days and nights of fasting in the Judaean Desert. At the time, Satan came to Jesus and tried to tempt him.
Jesus Life and Death
The resurrection is a sign of God's great power. Nothing is too great for God to achieve, and this is comforting and encouraging for Christians in difficulty. Jesus' death and resurrection open the possibility of eternal life with God for all people.
Jesus as the Divine
The earliest Christians maintained that Jesus was a human being who was made God - a god - a divine being. Later they ended up saying that Jesus was born to the union of God and a mortal because the Holy Spirit came upon Mary and that's how she conceived Jesus, so Jesus literally had God as his father.

1. When Jesus calmed the storm and said " Peace! Be Still! " , and this stopped Jesus and his disciples from drowning in the storm.
2.The Four Friends- Jesus was presented with a parallelised man who was carried to him by his four friends. The men believed Jesus came from God and he could heal. Jesus said to the man " Your sins are forgiven." He chose to say this as forgiving sins is harder than telling the man " Get up and walk". However, as Jesus is a God he is able to forgive those who have sinned and he took the sins to the cross.
