The Buddha was a person called Siddharta Guatama who lived 2,600 years ago. He was not a God. He was a human who ‘woke up’ from the ‘sleep of confusion’ and became aware of the truth. The Buddha became free of suffering and was able to help others to ‘awaken themselves'.

Buddhism
Buddhism is something that teaches you to be polite.
If you do all of these things you will have a wonderful life and happy life.
These are the things you have to do to have a wonderful life and a happy life: be kind, be truthful, be generous don't steal and if you do all of these things you will have a wonderful life.

What happened to the Buddha?

He woke up from confusion it doesn't actually mean he woke up from confusion like huh? What happened? It means he realized his mistake so he wanted to correct people if they made a mistake, like lying.

People respected him.

The Buddhism is a religion about kindness. The Buddha travelled and saved animals. People should be kind, people should be compassionate, people should be generous and people should be truthful.

The Buddha taught us not to lie and to be honest so we can have a good life. The Buddha told us to do that because if we do, we will have a life of happiness.

The Buddha was not a god, he was a person and when he was a person he started stealing, bullying, lying and more which was not good for him.

When The Buddha died, he learnt his mistakes and went back in time to change them and soon he was called "the awakened one;.

The Buddha taught Buddhists to learn and change their mistakes. So Buddhists wore golden clothes to show their respect and to be equal.

Who is the Buddha

The Buddha was a very special person. He "Awoke from the sleep of confusion." And what I mean by it is that he did some bad stuff, but then he changed it all. And then he taught others how to "awaken themselfs". And that is why we respect him today.
What are the teachings of the Buddha

The Buddha taught people that: people should be kind, people should be compassionate, people should be generous, and finally people should be truthful. The Buddha was a man called Siddharta Guamata. There are lots of storys about the Buddha. One is called Sidharta and the swan. In the story, Sidharta go's watching swans flying gracefully across the sky but then, he saw that his cousin killed one with an arrow then, they went to their teacher to sort out the problem. He said "It is Siddharta's swan because he saved it."
