Great Wall of China
China's Geography
China has many cities and towns
China is a large country with diverse people and landscapes. It is the fourth largest country in the world and has the largest population. Most of China is hilly and mountainous. The world's tallest mountain, Mount Everest, is partially located in China. China also has thousands of rivers.
Food
Some varieties of Chinese food
Chinese people eat many different types of food. Rice is eaten almost every day. They also eat a lot of noodles, dumplings and steamed wheat bread. They use chopsticks to eat and enjoy fruit at the end of the meal for dessert. Chinese people don't shop at big supermarkets. Instead they go to outdoor markets where they buy food from local farmers.
Life as a Kid
A Chinese boy does his daily schoolwork
Chinese children take a break from farm work
Chinese kids have different lives than ours. Kids that live in rural settings have to work on the farm or help with chores before and after school. Chinese kids have to study a lot. Most families have to be small because of Chinese law, so they don't usually have a lot of siblings to play with.
