Rock Challenge FINALS!
Mental Health Week: Stress- Are We Coping?
Congratulations to all the students that took part in the Rock Challenge event with some amazing results for our first time ever at the finals!
Overall, we came 4th out of 11 schools for the whole South of England. Such an amazing achievement!
The Eastbourne Academy also won 13 awards of excellence for the following:

Mental Health Week: Stress- Are We Coping?
Mental Health week this year, 14th- 20th May, was all about stress and how we cope with it-
"By tackling stress, we can go a long way to tackle mental health problems such as anxiety and depression, and, in some instances, self-harm and suicide."

To support Mental Health Awareness buy a smiley green badge from Mrs Francis for just £1.
A group of teenagers were asked what the main things that make them stressed were and these were the results:
1) School work (68%)
2) Parents (56%)
3) Friends’ problems (52%)
4) Relationships (48%)
5) Drugs in the neighbourhood (48%)

To help get everyone into the mood for the end of year exams, we have a few riddles to get your brains working:
In your tutor this term for take pride you had to:
Build the Tallest Freestanding Structure out of: 20 Sticks of Spaghetti, One Yard Tape, One Yard String & One Marshmallow.
The tutor groups that built the Tallest Freestanding Structure went to the finals where they had to again build a Freestanding Structure but this time from: Paper and Tape.
