Internet Safety Day was on Tuesday 6th of February; you may remember Mr Cadman's assembly about it.
There are 883 schools/colleges taking part in this event, and the number is growing. The internet and social media is becoming such a big part in our every day life and we need to realise the dangers or issues it can cause; such as, how it can effect out physical, digital, emotional and mental well-being.
Do you want to be involved in Scholars?
The Scholar Programme and related ‘extra-curricular’ opportunities are designed to
stimulate, stretch and enrich learning for the most able and ensure that scholars are
engaged in activities relating to the wider community. If you are interested in applying please note that you must be committed to scholars and attend every session possible. On a lighter note, to apply, see Dr Hobbs in the MFL corridor (114). Dr Hobbs is looking for open minded people that are willing to learn with a tolerant mind set and democratic spirit, however, Dr Hobbs asked us to make it clear that Scholar isn’t just for the more able students; it is also open for students that are less able that want to expand their knowledge and improve their capability in lessons. In the near future, Dr Hobbs hopes to open Scholars to year 9 and KS4. Dr Hobbs says, his favourite part of the Scholars programme is “…being part of learning that shows what students are capable of, that you don’t hear in a typical learning environment.” If you require any more information just click this link:
