When most people think of salamanders, they often think of the small little critters, 4-6 inches long. And most salamanders are that small. But the chinese giant salamanders(Scientific name: Andrias davidianus) can grow bigger than that even when they´re still larvae! They can grow up to 6 feet in length! That´s just a little less than a dolphin! However they are decreasing in size. Now, the average chinese giant salamander´s size is, according to the book, ¨Chinese Giant Salamanders¨, 3.8 feet and 50 pounds.
