A Guide to Seesaw for Parents/Carers

As you are aware Seesaw is the communication tool used at St Pius to share learning, homework, messages, etc Many thanks to those of you who have managed to sign up and engage with Seesaw but unfortunately only 54% of our Parents/Carers have signed up to the family app.

I have prepared a guide for you to look through which explains the purpose of the family and class app and how to download it onto your phone. If you have any issues pop in and see me or catch me in the playground.

Getting to Grips with the Apps

There are 2 Apps available to download from your App store for free. These are called Seesaw CLASS and Seesaw FAMILY.

Seesaw FAMILY App -TO BE USED BY PARENTS/CARERS

Once you have downloaded this App you can join your child's class by link provided by the school. Through this App you can receive messages from the Class Teacher or members of the Senior Leadership Team.

This App is for your usage. Your child should access and complete work through the CLASS App not the FAMILY App.

Seesaw CLASS App - PUPIL USE ONLY

Once downloaded, this App should be used by your child. They can access their account through the QR code or home learning code sent by their class teacher.

When your child logs in, they will see three sections;
1. Journals - here they will find home learning grids, PowerPoints, pre-recorded lessons, etc.
2. Activities - here they will see interactive tasks they can engage with using their device.
3. Inbox - here they will find messages from their teacher.

When pupils complete their work they should upload to their journals so teachers can give feedback.
