THE NIGHT OF ROBERT BURNS

THE ROLLING CHEESE FESTIVAL

The Rolling Cheese Festival is an annual event held on Cooper's Hill on the last Monday in May (a British holiday). It started as a local festival and over time it ended up being an international festival, with thousands of annual visitors.

The celebration consists of a master of ceremonies throwing from the top of the hill a large cheese typical of the area, the "Double Gloucester", an unpasteurized and semi-hard cheese, while the participants run after him, down the hill, chasing him. until you catch it and get the win and that big cheese. Taking into account that the cheese weighs about 4 kg and can reach 110 km/h up a very steep slope, it is almost impossible to catch it, so whoever is closest to catching it and reaching the finish line also wins.
