How can I survive?

Palm trees have smooth trunks. This helps Military Macaws stay safe. Military Macaws survive from animals such as cats and reptiles. Many other animals can't climb smooth trunks.

What do I look like?

Military Macaws are large and are green red blue and yellow. They have short necks, large heads,and have a very long tail. They also have thick curved hard beaks, four toes, two feet. Two of their toes face forward two of their toes face backwards.

A male and female nest together. They make a nest by holes a dead tree. Females sit on the eggs in the nest so they can have a baby. During this time a male would hunt food. The male stores the food a pouch in his throat. When the eggs hatched both the parents take turns hunting and feeding the young.

My Baby

Military Macaws take care of their young. Chicks are born blind. Their eyes open nine to sixteen days later. Chicks are born with out fluffy feathers. Feathers appear three weeks after birth. Feathers are only for warmth. Chicks are not very active. Once baby chicks can fly they must be a wear of predators.
