This book was organized by teachers Eliane Aparecida Candoti and Rosemeire Ferreira Lopes Pereira of Project Meet Londrina. The teachers promoted collections and storytelling with teachers and students of the Municipal Education Network of Londrina, together with the project The periphery tells its story of the culture Incentive Program – PML (PROMIC) of Professor Regina Célia Alegro.  Bruna Ester Gomes Yamashita presents in this work the text ‘Things from my neighborhood’ where it tells the curious discoveries of a girl who ventures through the neighborhood and explores places from the perspective of childhood. The delicacy of Cristiane
Takahara's illustrations highlights the beauty of playing and interactions with the environment, at the same time it invites us to look with love and attention to the place in which we live. The narratives about the neighborhood poetically detail aspects of the city to be studied by the cut out of the neighborhood and the people who compose it.
I ALWAYS KNEW THAT I LIVED IN A HOUSE,
MY HOUSE.
SURROUNDED BY MY BACKYARD
RIGHT IN FRONT OF A BUILDING,
NEAR A WASTELAND,
WHICH IS A REAL THICKET.
ONE DAY I FOUND OUT THAT WALKING DOWN
THE STREET IS VERY GOOD.
WALK WITH FRIDA,
PICK LITTLE FLOWERS,
LOOK ANTS AND
PICK UP A HANDFUL OF LITTLE STONES...
RIDE A BICYCLE,
CLIMB IN THE TREES,

WALK ON THE LAWN OF THE BUILDING.

I EVEN FOUND OUT THAT
ON THE STREET OF MY HOUSE,
THERE WAS A LOT OF GARBAGE THROWN:
SMALL, BIG AND MEDIUM.
MY MOM LIKES TO WALK,
SHE ALWAYS INVITES ME FOR A WALK.
THAT'S HOW I FOUND OUT
THAT WALK ON FOOT IS BETTER THAN BY CAR,
BECAUSE I COULD EVEN SEE,
AT THE TOP OF A LIGHT POLE,
A NEST OF JOÃO-DE-BARRO.
