What are role relationships?
Children are a part of families, and these families are made up of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, cousins, grandparents, step-fathers, step-mothers, guardians, two mothers, two fathers, transgender caregivers, and more! It is the responsibility of the prudent NP to understand roles in a family unit they can counsel, encourage, and educate appropriately for all infants, children, and adolescents.

The USDHHS recommends:
• Reduce children's exposure to violence.
• Reduce bullying and sexual violence with dating.
• Decrease the percentage of public middle and high schools with a violent incident.
• Reduce physical assaults and physical fighting among adolescents.
• Reduce weapon carrying by adolescents (grades 9 to 12) on school property.
• Reduce morbidity and mortality related to child maltreatment.
