Class of 2019

The BA (Hons) Music programme is situated in the Department of Creative and Performing Arts, within the School of Humanities

College Street is the ideal campus for the creative arts, with the Chapel used frequently as a performance space

The music degree is a 4-year programme which incorporates a balance of practical and academic subjects leading to a specialisation in Performance, Music Technology, Research, or Composition

I have made friends for life on the music course. The past four years have been truly wonderful. The lecturers have been so generous and helpful in all they've done, helping us hone our skills as musicians and performers.

Hi! My name is Heather McGrath I am in my final year in the BA (Hons) music course in WIT.

I came to find my passion for music at the age of 11, when I penned my first song. I have continued to write over the years and have quite a portfolio of work! In September of 2018, I released my first single.. "Intoxicate Me".. Check out the Spotify link below to hear it :D

Eimear Dignam

My Name is Eimear Dignam and I am in my final year of BA (Hons) Music degree.

I have a great interest in sound engineering and music technology which is why I decided to choose Music Tech as my Minor subject as part of my final degree. Here are a few examples of my work below.

Furthermore I have a love of composition and creating abstract soundscapes through the use of ProTools and Sibelius.

When I finish my degree I intend to apply for a MA in Music Production and Sound Engineering and try to get as much work experience as possible. I would also like to get back on stage and get more involved with local Musical Theatre groups.

My name is Killian Browne, a fourth year in the BA (Hons) music course majoring in Performance and minoring in Composition.

Through college, I discovered a love for Jazz piano that will undoubtedly continue for the rest of my life. Everything I have learned from my lecturers has proved invaluable. I also developed a passion for teaching, which I have made a considerable part of my life and vocation as a musician. Here I am during Piano day in Waterford doing some street teaching

Performing has brought me to many different places in many different guises! From playing in festivals to dabbling in the theatrics.

I major in composition & minor in classical guitar performance!

I have learned so much about music during my four years at WIT thanks
to all of the wonderful & talented lecturers. It would not have been possible to achieve this without their unwavering support!

I have begun my career as a piano and guitar teacher and plan on continuing my musical education at WIT on the Masters in Performance course.

I took up classical guitar in my first year of the course & loved it so much that I switched it to my main instrument thanks to the support of my tutor Michael O' Toole.

I'm Lucia and I am a 4th year major composition and minor performance student in the BA (Hons) Music course in W.I.T.

In my years at W.I.T I have learned so many things that will help me in my future music career and help me to achieve it

During my last year I realised that I want to be an accomplished composer. I am trying and will continue to try to achieve this dream!

The lecturers in the course are very kind and helpful towards their students

I have really enjoyed being a student of W.I.T. and wouldn't change it for the world. There is a sense of community and friendship between everyone in the BA (Hons) Music course that gives such a welcoming feeling to all students

I have very much enjoyed my time at WIT and as a result of the excellent guidance I have received from my lecturers, I have been accepted to study an MA in Performance at the Royal Irish Academy of Music

My name is Jack Kennedy and I am in my fourth and final year of the BA honors music course at WIT

My major study is performance and my instrument is classical guitar. Throughout my time at WIT I have been encouraged by all my lecturers, and in particular my tutor Dr Michael O'Toole, to realize my full potential as a musician

In my third year at WIT, I won the Feis Ceoil Senior Guitar competition and the Bridget Doolan Award

Over the last four years I have performed both with the Irish Youth Guitar Orchestra and as a soloist in the National Concert Hall

My minor study is dissertation and with the encouragement of my supervisor Dr Hazel Farrell I was accepted to give a lecture on my paper at the Dublin Guitar Symposium 2019
