Definition
Sloths are gentle creatures – their scientific name, Bradypus, means ‘slow feet’ in Greek. 

Appearance
There are two types of sloths, two-toed and three-toed sloths. Sloths are grey and furry with green algae dotted on their fur.

Diet
A sloth’s diet consists mainly of buds, leaves and tender shoots, although some sloths have been known to eat insects and birds in their diet. 

Habitat
Sloths are tree-dwelling animals, they are found in the jungles of Central America and South America.
