SPECTACLED CAIMAN FACTS

Appearance
Spectacled caiman are normally green or yellow but in winter, black pigment expands making them appear darker. They have brown eyes and a bony ridge in between each eye giving it it’s name.
Habitat
They can be found in Brazil, Columbia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, French Guiana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela.

A spectacled caimans diet differs during the two main seasons in the dry season they would eat fish. During the wet season they will eat a varied diet of freshwater snails and crabs.

They are nowhere near even half the size of their much much bigger relatives the freshwater caiman. Sorry guys.

They are only a small to medium species ranging from a size of 1.4 metres to 2.5 metres.
