Chapter One The Suicide and the Vanishes
“December 8, 1610”
The snow covered the forest in the mountains by a small town. It was an average December night, cloudy, starless, and cold. But it wasn't an average night, a young girl, only ten years old, in a blue nightgown was walking through the woods. She had long red hair hanging over her bare shoulders. She had no underclothes, just her silk blue dressing gown. She was freezing cold, but she didn't care, she came here for a reason, she could not go back, not now. She was in so much pain, emotionally, physically, pain everywhere. There was only one way to escape it, only one way to end it. The girl stood at the edge of the gorge, there was a lake at the bottom. It was frozen over and blue, it was so pretty. And death would be quick. All she had to do, was jump. Standing at the edge of the cliff, the girl looked at the bottom with her dark brown eyes. She wasn't scared. But she was sad…. She looked to the sky and took a deep breath.
“God above, be good to them. Be good to the ones that couldn't love me.”
And she jumped.
There was a crack of bone and ice as the girl hit the ice, but she had jumped wrong, both her legs broke on impact with the hard ice. More pain, more agony. The water had turned crimson and the dressing gown had become a fabric trap, constricting her chest as she plunged deeper into the ice cold depths. How far did it go? How long will it take for her to die? When will it stop hurting?
The police, and the girl’s mother ran up the path, following the cold bear footprints. But by the time they got there, they knew it was too late., The young mother looked down at the red hole in the ice. She screamed one desperate word down to the depths. “GLORIA!”

May 6 1702
A young twelve year old boy walked by the river bouncing his little green ball. He was a cute child with dark skin and black hair and brown eyes. He stopped….There was something in the water. It was slight but it was there. It looked like… well, something red in the water. Was it blood? Was someone hurt? He followed the river up holding his ball to his
chest, he did that when he was nervous. He didn’t know what he was about to see it made him fidgety. He came up to the lake, where the water ran blood red.  In fact, the whole lake was stained red, there was a figure at the edge by the big cliff, it was a girl, possibly his age or younger, she was dripping wet.
“Hello?!” He called to the little girl.
She did not answer.
“Do you need help?!” He called again.
Again, she didn't say a word, but she started to walk towards him.
“H-hey! Be careful,” the boy yelled” don't go in the water! It might be dangerous!”
The girl said nothing, she continued moving towards him, her red hair over her face. The boy realize she was walking on the water! The boys breath became white and cloudy like that on a cold winter's night, he couldn't move, he could barely breathe. And the girl just got closer, and closer. Finally, they were face to face, the girl was a few inches shorter than the boy, but was certainly not one to be messed with and was not an entity you want to call
over. The girls pale hands mover her wet red hair from her face, revealing a pair of big dark brown eyes, and a pale freckled face. She had thin red lips that stood out on her pale face, they were so red, like the water under her bare feet. She gingerly took the little boys hand in her cold, pale, one. Her hand was smaller compared to his, but stronger because though she held his hand gingerly, she held it in a vice-like grip.
“Come dance with me.” She whispered softly.
And she began walking into the lake.
“W-wait.” The boy stammered “I-I can't walk on water like you can.”
The girl turned to him when he was waist deep in the crimson water.
“I know.” She smiled.
And she dragged him deeper, deeper, and deeper still. Till his head disappeared from view. Underneath the water the boy held his breath as he was taken deeper, deeper still. His head was spinning, his lungs were burning, his skin was screaming with the sheer cold of the water around him. He had read something about the lake, how the farthest anyone had gone was 100 ft. And that wasn't the bottom. Deeper and

And that wasn't the bottom. Deeper and
deeper still the pair went, the boy felt his lungs compressing from the monstrous pressure around him. Then, they reached the bottom. A skeleton lay at the bottom with an old dress, and two shattered legs.
This was all the boy saw before his vision finally went black, and water filled his burning lungs. And still, the young girl smiled, a cold cruel smile. And danced at the bottom of the lake with the young boys corpse.
The young boys mother waited. He would have been home by now, he was NEVER late. Something was wrong. The woman sipped at her water as time to pass by. Tick, tick, tick, perhaps he lost track of the time, tick, tick, tick, he always did that, tick, tick, tick. The woman decided to go tell him it was time to come home. She set down her drink and walked over by the river. He wasn't there. Panicking, the young mother began calling her sons name.
“Henry?! Henry where are you?!” She called.
the woman continued calling for her son. Then, she heard him, far off in the distance, singing an strange song.
