The Loon Lake Chronicles
“We do not learn from experience… we learn from reflecting on experience.” -John Dewey
PLP 8 and 9!
WE NEVER RETREAT!!
Replace this box with a map shows North Vancouver to Loon Lake, then add a drawing tracing the route of our trip.
I’m really excited to hopefully do some kind of high ropes course. I’ve been afraid of heights for a while and I think they’ll help me get over my fear. Also thier really fun to do.
I think I’m going to learn about teamwork because it’s really important for PLP

When I took this photo I was walking through the woods and it was really quiet and nice and I think this photo captures that energy.

One place I found amazingly beautiful so far at Loon Lake is the forest because it feels so fresh.

Draw here your own map of the camp. Make sure to add a legend and a title for your map. Try to make it personal: where is your cabin? advisory?

Here is a blank page to add any random thoughts, pictures, and ideas. You will also be adding a reflection on the trip as a whole later!
Learning Advance Day 2
Replace this shape with a picture of your learning (learning or skill rotation) from today!
I learned that when you build a shelter in the woods you should find a big already existing log or branch to build off. When I built my shelter it wasn’t very stable so it we couldn’t put too much weight on it or it would fall over. I think the best type of shelter is a lean too because it’s the sturdiest and when you build it on a log it’s very good at holding weight so you can use lots of logs and moss to keep the water out. I think I can apply this knowledge in the future if I ever get stuck in the forest without shelter. I can also apply it to the future if I decide to study and get a job in the survival industry. I already knew quite a bit about building shelters from a mount Seymour camp I did a while ago.
Record the sound of you trying your new food: get your advisory group to help you!
