My dearest Audrey, September 27

It’s been too long since I’ve heard from you. Things have started to get complicated here on Mars, I cannot discuss it with you due to work confidentiality but it is not good. I know you’re on your way into space and this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I need you to go to take the flight that heads to the space station on the moon. It isn’t safe here and I refuse to put you in danger even if I might never see you again. I love you unconditionally which is why I cannot have you come here. When I came here with the 15 other soldiers, we were not informed of the government's plans, they were trying to control everyone more than when we all lived on Earth. Once more citizens of Earth started to come to live on Mars, we were told to install cameras in every house that was on government owned land. Which happened to be all of them. The real problem was that no one knew that we were installing them. Residents would be informed that we were there to install security features which isn’t incorrect but they kind of extended the truth.

Not only do we now have access to see what everyone is doing, we are also able to hear whatever they’re saying. So now the UMars government has us either sitting behind a screen watching and monitoring everyone or they have us enforcing punishments on the people who mention anything about going back to Earth or saying anything bad about UMars. It has gotten out of control and when I try to mention how wrong it is, they threaten to take away any chance I have at seeing you or my family. I am terrified of what is happening. I cannot get any more into detail, I have already told you too much and risked putting you in danger. Audrey please listen to what I am saying, I am looking for what's best for you.

When I got this letter I was expecting it to be a little happier. I didn’t realize how bad it was up on Mars, they said it would be a fresh start up there. A lot has changed since I last wrote to you, the government has denied travel until all the mothers and their children left Earth. I was included in that group. Surprise! I just found out the other day and I was so thrilled to tell you but now you don't want me to come to mars. I get it, you want me to be safe but i'm carrying a child and how am I supposed to tell them when they grow up that their daddy is on a whole different planet? Isn’t there something you can do? Is there a way to transport you to the UMoon station?

Please Andrew, I can’t live without you and I don't want our child growing up fatherless. Or what if I continue on my trip to Mars, as long as I follow all the rules and know what to look out for I’ll be fine. You said they’re only going after the people who mention anything about going back to Earth, that's simple I just won't say anything about that. I will do anything to be with you Andrew, please.

My love, November 17

My face lit up when I saw your telegram come in and it made me happier to read it. Me, a dad? Who would have thought. I hope it's a girl but I wouldn’t mind a boy either and I hope they have your smile or your laugh or better yet, both. I miss you more and more each day and as each day passes my love for you grows. If you come to Mars like we had planned, you need to know all the limits and restrictions the UMars government has put into place. You need to keep these letters confidential because if anyone finds out I am giving you this information, I could be killed. Audrey, you must not mention anything about being uncomfortable here.

They will have someone install cameras and microphones all around the house which means while you are here I cannot talk about what goes at the station during the day. I don’t know if they’ll let me live with you off base but I am hoping I can convince them too. I’d rather not have you and our child live on the station's base as there is barely any privacy. I miss you more than anything in this world. Stay safe, I’ll see you soon.

After the tragic loss of Major General Andrew Michael and his beloved wife Audrey Gauvin their obituaries were published onto the UMARS National Telegram available for all residents of Mars and Earth to be able to see. Their daughter Maesi held a ceremony to honor her father's greatest accomplishments.

Obituary of Andrew C. Michael
Andrew Collin Michael,Stratsbourgh, UMars passed away on July 23
surrounded by his daughter. He passed away at the age of 87 due to natural causes. He was born in Pittsburg, PA on December 4, 2113 son of the late Preston and Sadie Michael. He is survived by his loving daughter Maesi and her husband Carter of Stratlebourgh, Mars. He was a adored by his two grandchildren Samuel and Juliet.He is also survived by his sister Hadley of Stratlebourgh, Mars. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Audrey Gauvin of Stratlebourgh, Mars. Andrew was a graduate from Carlisle Barracks Army Base in Carlisle, PA.
He retired from the UMars Army base in 2169. He belonged to UMars Junior Training Program, the first ever camp on Mars to teach
high schoolers the basics to being a part of the UMars Army. He will forever be remembered by his friends and family as he made an
impact on everyone he interacted with. Relatives and family are welcome to join the family from 4-7PM Saturday, July 28, at the Ashton L. Possum Funeral Home.

Obituary of Audrey L.Gauvin
Audrey Lynn Gauvin, Stratsbourgh, UMars passed away on January 15 surrounded by her beloved husband and daughter. She passed away after a long fight against breast cancer. She was born in Farmington, ME on July 7th, 2115 daughter of late Wesley and Julia Parker. She is survived by her husband Andrew Michael and her loving daughter Maesi of Stratsbourogh, UMars. She was adored by her two grandchildren Samuel and Juliet. She was predeceased by her sister Charlie of Pittsburg. Audrey was a graduate from UMaine, Farmington, ME. She retired from Stratsbourgh Elementary School after 40 years of teaching preschool students. She belonged to the Girl Scouts of Mars for almost 15 years. She touched the hearts of everyone she knew and will continue to be remembered as an amazing teacher, mom, wife, and grandma.Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 3-6 PM on January 19, at the Ashton L. Possum Funeral Home.
