Short stories... Stories about the sea!
Preface
Over three years (2020-2023), with a pandemic in between, the Erasmus+ KA229 Project "There is Sea and Sea... There is a whole Ocean To Care for" (ID 2020-1-PT01-KA229-07887) was developed, Coordinated by Moinhos da Arroja School Complex School Libraries, together with the four partner schools: Istituto Comprensivo Statale Nereto Sant'Omero, Torano Nuovo (Italian School); Narlıdere Sıdıka Akdemir Bilim Sanat Merkezi (Turkish School); Sakala Eragumnaasium Mittetulundusühing SAKALA ERAGÜMNAASIUM (Estonian School); and, Angel Kanchev Third Secondary School (Bulgarian School).

The key question of this project was: "What trash do we find on the beaches near us? What are the consequences of this waste on marine ecosystems and on humans?", being one of the specific objectives "Promote sustainable actions for the conservation and preservation of the oceans in conjunction with the curriculum of various disciplines in different teaching cycles" and "Work on reading as a transversal domain of the curriculum, combining it with other forms of expression".

One of the ways identified to contribute to the increase of ocean literacy, to the collective awareness of the students involved regarding the problematic of excessive plastic in marine ecosystems and its consequences to life, was the literary production and respective illustration. This eBook is the result of the compilation of the various stories produced over the last two years of the project, consisting in the construction of a digital book using the Book Creator tool. In the process the Estonian school wrote the first story, the Italian school illustrated it, the Italian school wrote its story, which was illustrated by the Turkish school, then the Turkish school wrote the story, which was illustrated by a 2nd grade class from the Portuguese school; a 6th grade class from our school wrote a fable, which was illustrated by students from Bulgaria. Finally, Bulgarian students wrote a story that whas illustrated by students from the Estonian school.

We hope you will enjoy the stories written and illustrated by our students!
