Welcome to VIVED Carpentry

This guide is designed to walk with you step-by-step to use VIVED Carpentry application. After you have mastered this application, explore other things zSpace. As you get started, please read through each page while sitting next to a zSpace machine for hands-on practice. The videos embedded into this book are designed to provide you with the tools you need to get started. Have fun breaking the barrier with virtual reality, and welcome to the world of zSpace!

Complete the activity: Explore the important parts of how a house is framed. Read the information on each slide and explore the parts within this "House Framing" activity. 12 x 12 Square Using the equipment and the tools provided, chalk out a 12-by-12 foot square using blue chalk and placing blocks at the corners as shown in the diagram. 16" ON CENTER STUD LAYOUT “16 on center” is a framing term that refers to the spacing of wall studs 16" apart across the entire framed structure. 16' Tape Measure Explore the 16' components of a tape measure rollmeter in detail. Getting Started with VIVED Carpentry for zSpace

To begin: Register for VIVED Carpentry. Your instructor will provide you with directions for how to register.

First: Open VIVED Carpentry on you zSpace or any web-enabled browser. 1. Log-in: <a href="https://vlp.vivedlearning.com/dashboard">https://vlp.vivedlearning.com/dashboard</a>

2. Select "+ Join with Code" and enter the code provided by the instructor. 3. Select your channel.

4. Find "House Framing Activity" and open.

WALL PARTS Examine parts of the wall. WORKING FROM FLOOR PLANS Read and interpret construction drawings.

Not able to rotate in VIVED Constuction: For the model to rotate on the zSpace laptop, check “Touchpad” settings on the computer and confirm that “Press the right corner of the touchpad to right click” is checked.&nbsp; Right click rotation tip in VIVED Construction: On the zSpace laptop, to rotate models only use one finger press to manipulate the turning of the image.
