About Alexander von Humboldt School: Alexander Von Humboldt is a Comprehensive school, there are around 850 students of 11 to 16 years of age. It’s an international schools: teachers and students come from 50 different countries (Italy, Turkey, Greece, Portugal, Poland, The Czech Republic and so on) There are 3 different diplomas to access different types of High schools: Professional education, Technical education, General education. They also have the Internship in factories and studios Alexander was a geographer, a naturalist and an explorer who described, drew, gave the name and classified many plants and in Latin America. 5.1. How did the Covid19 affect&nbsp;your emotional life, the relationship with the people you love and your school life?

"Creating this eTwinning project has been really challenging. I was like surfing a huge wave! At the beginning we felt very enthusiastic about the work, we had arranged everything and we felt ready to start, but when the pupils started to interact we realized that it was rather difficult for them to work in teams and to communicate. The teachers became aware that the students needed multiple choice tasks, or close texts as well as short open questions. Although we had given them some tools in terms of glossaries and general instructions, these were not enough to activate the students in a proficient way. After the teachers Giovanna, Stefania and Nerea managed to monitor the pupils and guide them with precise instructions, the things became much easier. What I particularly appreciated about this project was that it was absolutely inclusive. Travelling online not only became possible with no expenses, but it also enabled everyone to participate, none was left behind. All in all, I'm really satisfied about all we achieved together!" “Since the very beginning the students were eager to have a “virtual” exchange with foreign students, even if scared about the language. Actually, the first video-call between German and Italian students was a little difficult, since they all were deeply shy, afraid of making mistakes and of not being able to understand the other students speaking.&nbsp;But, after the initial expected embarrassment, they felt more confident and finally managed to communicate. They could realize that everyone of them was feeling the same about the Coronavirus. Every week they had an on-line meeting to share tasks about the topic and to get to know each other. They could appreciate then the real meaning of “exchange”, that is sharing emotions, thoughts, values&nbsp;and, why not?...some laughter too. They could find out that teenagers are the same all over Europe, even during a pandemic. I can firmly state that, despite all the difficulties, the project was successful. All the groups have interacted somehow, and even the most doubtful students got involved in speaking or writing. Most of them hope to join another project next year: that's actually a great success! Only few of them still think this job was useless, just because they can't see any real outcome right now. I am sure they will realize in the future how useful it was, at least in terms of acquiring a European dimension of citizenship! I am satisfied with the work, because I think it allowed our boys and girls, who hardly ever leave their hometown, to open their minds and “to travel”, even though only virtually, in these hard times of pandemic. And hopefully, like a powerful WAVE, it may wipe away every sort of distance and painful parting.

Interview: Changes&nbsp;in your town in Italy What has changed in your city or village? In our village there is red zone and all shop are closed. What changes did you notice first? Nothing because there are more people around than before. What did your town or village look like during the lockdown? In the first lockdown, my country was deserted because everyone was afraid, but now it is as if there was no Covid-19. Did you notice how typical sounds or activities of people changed? No, but in the first lockdown there were many ambulances which could be heard. How has the economic situation changed or developed? The economic situation is getting worse for small businesses such as small restaurants, hairdressers etc. Could you see any positive aspects in these changes? No. How did you feel emotionally during the virus? Normal.

"It is now exactly about a year since Corona came into our lives. The Coronavirus has greatly increased to the Negative from month to month. The numbers of infections are very different. There were months where the number of infections was very high. But there were also months where the number of infections was very low. On 18 December 2020 alone, there were more than 31,000 new infections in Germany. That may not sound like much, but it is a lot. Corona was not taken seriously by many people in the beginning. Many people thought that they could go on living their lives without restrictions. I took Corona seriously from the first seconds. I have implemented everything that Mrs.Merkel, our Chancellor told us. Many People didn’t really take Corona seriously until they heard that you can die from this Virus. Corona has changed many things in my life. We are all very limited at the moment. I can´t play normal football like before. I only have practice once a week now. We have two football fields and a maximum of two people are allowed on each half. Of course, we are not allowed to have physical contact. Corona also changed a lot of things at school. We have to wear masks at school. It is very exhausting to wear masks every day. But what I like is that the schools are paying attention who is wearing a mask. Who has forgotten his mask, can buy a mask in the secretariat for 1 Euro. Our class was divided into two groups. We always take turns. One day Group A goes and the other day group B. I was quarantined for four weeks because of my uncle. My uncle had Corona. And I wouldn’t wish anyone the quarantine, because that is too bad. I was supposed to stay in my room the whole time and that was very bad because I couldn’t do anything. Of course, I also got homework from school. I always had to send my homework per Email. I just hope there’s no more wave coming and I hope that Corona goes away as soon as possible. I think it´s great that our project is about Corona because Corona is currently the most topic in the World." Kayra Akmut

Italy, Germany: What did change in your city? In my city it is not possible to go to shopping centres, to&nbsp;the fitness gym or to nail studios. We must have a mask on. Many stores have closed because of Covid-19 and we cannot go to the cinema, they are closed, too. Italy: Do you think it's good that anything has changed in your city and why? Yes, because we can spend more time with our family and with friends in online meetings. Germany: What does your city look like now? Like a zombie village, nobody is outside and if someone goes out they look like a person who is a ghost. Germany: Did someone lose her job in your family? Fortunately, everyone still has their job in my family, it's just a shame that many families have lost their jobs. Italy: Today we live in the red zone and it's not cool. We want the normal life back. Germany, Italy: Is it now easier at school than sitting more at home? Not really, you don't get a lot of the topics because you don't get to them.

Welcome to an experiment of virtual class mobility! This project is meant to allow teenagers of two different countries in Europe to share the experience of the Coronavirus Pandemic. We have involved some students of IIS Caterina Caniana in Italy and Von Humboldt School in Germany in a virtual mobility experience to exchange impressions about what has been happening to everybody's lives. Students have been given reflection themes in the form of questions to guide them towards a better understanding of what has been happening and what can be done to feel better. We have been focusing on the huge amount of positive energy that people living in different parts of the world have put together to face a common enemy: Coronavirus19. This remarkable collaboration allowed the scientists to find vaccines and to make advances that can be applied to the treatment of other severe diseases. All in all, this wave didn’t submerge us completely, on the contrary it made us detect some reference points and values that we had been giving for granted. We are becoming resilient and maybe now we have the opportunity and the time to make a change. "I liked to working at this project because it was for me something like an challenge. Because i wanted to raise myself. For example I wanted to try to write better Texts than before. "This is a good question. If you asked me that 1 year ago, I would not had an answer. Maybe I would say, that it’s just a normal Virus. But now 1 year later, I could write a whole Book about Covid-19. In one month from February to March, everything has changed. It started with Schools. We got one Month earlier our Easter holidays. First, it was very cool. All students were happy to play with their game console. But then after a long time, I missed the School. I missed my Friends. I missed my Schoolmates and my Teachers. I missed going out to play football. May 2020 the School had finally reopened. When I heard this Message from the School homepage, I was very happy. I couldn`t wait to see my friends. I thought the Lockdown would have gone away and everything would be normal. But then they told us, that we can came just in two different groups. We had to wear masks in class and in the schoolyard. When we wanted to eat our breakfast, we had to keep distance for more than 2 meters. That meant that Covid-19 was still there. So we got Rules for Covid-19, which were very script. When I heard these Rules, I was not so happy, No I was annoyed. I thought Covid-19 is just a normal disease. I could not understand how a normal Virus can change our Life so much. Then the summer came. It was not bad, because of the low incidence. I was often with 2 or 3 friends in a swimming pool. I was often playing football with friends. I was often grilling with some family members. Yes, we couldn`t do our holidays in other countries, nevertheless it was really nice in Germany Then in autumn, the incidence has increased. &nbsp;The Covid-19 wave was back. I felt nervous, because a lot of friends had Covid-19 cases in their families. &nbsp;And then the week came. One of my friends had the Virus. On this day, I was shocked and scared. Then I took the Corona virus seriously. I did a corona quick test. Luckily, it was negative. Since that day, I stick to the rules. I disinfect my hands every moment. But I think positive, because the Corona- vaccine is coming soon near future. I admire all doctors. This my personal story, how Covid_19 has changed my life." Yassin Kouraji

4. Organization of the working groups

1- The project lasted around 20 hours of work both with the teachers and without them. 2- There were 3 Tasks to complete 3- Each Task included one or more questions to be answered 4- Preparation meeting: the small national class groups tried to&nbsp;respond to the questions/themes in their English classes 5-&nbsp;ETwinning meetings: the international groups met online and shared what they found. They summarized their feelings and impressions. 6. After having chosen a way to express the most important findings through a picture, an image or a written text, the students uploaded their work 7- The Helper (teacher Corsini) is contacted for any request of clarification or help and she gathers some the the pupils' contributions in this E-book

"In the first months of the Pandemic I was very scared about Corona because my father is a risk patient. In the first Covid-19 lock down I was at home every day&nbsp;and I did some sport and played games. The saddest thing in the Pandemic was that one of my friends got Covid19 at the time I was worry about him. In my life since the Pandemic is everything the same. "Considering that for both of us, my students and me, this was the first experience in learning and teaching with the eTwinning portal, my students were open-minded towards this new project from the very beginning. Among the things they appreciated most were the posted weekly tasks, the vocabulary help, the exchange with each other and with the teachers that was extended beyond scheduled lessons. On the Twinspace they also loved to read their friends’ texts on the portal. As their teacher, I could observe a quantum jump in their motivation. They learned no longer for the lesson, they learned to make themselves understood and to understand the others. The theme (Covid) was a concrete one, taken from real life and not out of the books. In other words, the authenticity both of the topic and the collaboration with foreign students motivated them intrinsically to learn. They increased their self-confidence and their willingness to assume responsibility for themselves and for their group. Students who normally were hard to be motivated in English lessons showed a different attitude towards learning. The mix of elements such as authenticity, collaboration with international students and the project teachers, the interesting topic, the alternating phases between individual learning and learning in a group and a suitable networking medium enabled the students to harness their potentialities motivating them to accomplish the desired goals." "Hi! I am Gaia. I'm 16. I live in Presezzo, near Bergamo. I am a determined girl, when I want something, I do my best to get it. I have a particular character: sometimes I am cheerful and chatty, other times I am taciturn and unpleasant. I like to eat, especially sweets. I respect the environment very much, I try to use natural products as much as possible. I have no particular musical preferences, it depends on my mood. I like my school because I love clothes. I often change style because I like to see myself differently. Covid 19 has changed the daily habits of all the people in the world. I personally think the lockdown is correct to stop the virus. Initially I didn’t understand the gravity of the situation, but day after day, hearing the number of deaths, I got worried. The fear of getting infected terrified me and I was peaceful just staying in my home. However, I decided not to waste time and react. During this period I want to improve myself with personal growth, for example to be calmer and less nervous. Since I have more time to dedicate to myself, I am changing my wardrobe and my room. But I'm sorry I don't spend much time with my friends and grandparents anymore. I miss the long chats. As for the school, I passed the initial adaptation phase. Now with distance learning I am more interested than when I was in class. But I miss the physical presence of my classmates and my professors."

"In my town changed many things. The city looks empty. Covid- 19 have changed the people, because the people are crazy. Nearby there is a shopping centre in my suburb, Dicker Busch 2, there are many shops like “Netto”, hairdressers , “Kismet Restaurant”, a Turkish market, a bakery, and an ice cream shop, they‘re open, but with strict measures. In the first months, many shops had to close for a while, because the government said it. The students had stress in school and many problems with distance teaching, because many students didn’t understand anything and got misunderstanding. About IIS Caterina Caniana Polo della Grafica e della Moda: IIS Caterina Caniana is a high school, there are around 950 Students of 14 to 19 years of age. It’s an international schools: 14% of the students come from many different countries (Morocco, Senegal, Bolivian) There are 3 different diplomas: Professional Course of Graphics and Advertising, Professional Course of Fashion Design, Technical Course of Graphics and Communication They also have the Internship in studios and shops and factories. But when we started this project I liked it so much because I could speak English with other people and learned how they live in Italy with the COVID-19 Pandemic. "In the first few months, many shops had to close for a while, because the government wanted it. You haven't been able to go to restaurants for a long time because they were closed at the beginning. You must shop online if you want new clothes or food. Many people went broke because their stores were closed or because they were fired. In many families there are quarrels or losses of loved ones. The students had stress in school and many problems with friends and parents. You can't go to the fitness studio or to your team in hobbis like soccer. Our city looks like in the first months a zombie city. Nobody was outside, everybody was at home or at the job. I think it's not bad because there is less traffic and therefore fewer problems such as accidents, and the air is cleaner. Even so, not much has changed as we still have 4000 cases a day and the hospitals are full. Many families go to the broken site and that is what I don't like and many other people have the same opinion, but the politicians have no interest in how we live. I hope everything will be normal again soon and we can all go to restaurants and shops again without masks. "Hello, my name is Muhammed Rezan. I'm 16 years old. I born in Turkey. I have a little brother and 3 little sisters and i´m the oldest. I live in Rüsselsheim. I have many Friends in my surrounding. My way to my school is not long. Its 7 minutes from my home to school. My hobbies are going out with friends and playing soccer with friends. My aims in life is to work as a chemical technician and to own a few shops in Rüsselsheim or Frankfurt. My favorite holiday&nbsp;place is Los Angeles. In the first months i think that all is not real because nobody in my family had that. And than i saw that the number of infections was going up. Then there were some infections in my family an then i realized that all. Because the Pandemic our classes are now separated and that's really boring when a few friends are not around."

"In Rüsselsheim you could already see some changes in the first few months of the pandemic. You could see how the whole shops had to close and you could also see how people changed during the pandemic. Everyone had to respect the rules. We all had to say goodbye to our old habits, because we can no longer do activities like go playing football or going to the cinema to watch a film during the lockdown. Also meeting with the friends or with the families is no&nbsp;longer possible because at the moment there are the rule that only five people of two households&nbsp;are allowed to meet. You could not see crowded people on the streets anymore because the most prefered to stay home and to be safe. In addition, some people became unemployed because they were laid off or the different companies went bankrupt. For example, my sister works as a retailer. She has a shop for selling clothes for women and girls here in Rüsselsheim which names „Elzem Store". And before the pandemic, the things went very well and she was able to do business. But today all of these are not more able to do because you cannot do business easy, if you cannot sell things in the shop. Of course my sister has Instagram where she can continue with her business by selling clothes online but everything is much more difficult. But there are positive aspects, too in these changes. There were not many cars on the streets that want to go to their works or to bring the children to schools or kindergarten that could not get rid of so many pollutants. And this is an important aspect for our environment and the air we breathe. You can already see that this year the air was a little bit better than the other years because this year it snowed a lot of and this is not usually. People now take care of their own hygiene and that of others a lot more. Since the pandemic, everyone has always a disinfectant in their pocket. "(Before the online meetings) I started my computer and I waited at the E-twinning homepage. I like the project. I like it, to have some new lesson methods. Read books only is boring, but talking with Italian students was something new." 5.3. What has changed in your town or village?

"In the first 5 months there are a lot of things changed in our lives. That was a change to avoid contacts to other people. Keep your distance from other people. You should only meet with one person. Going outside only for necessary matters. There’s only one reason you should leave the house when you go to work, go shopping, go to the doctor. No parties are allowed or to meet or celebrate something in a group. Some companies closed because&nbsp;of the government’s restrictions. The rules have a purpose, so everyone has to follow the rule. People shouldn’t infect with the Corona Virus. For some people the Corona Virus is particularly dangerous. For old people, for example. And for people with other serious diseases. The risk of getting it is very real. Especially when people are together. That is why it is important to not to meet other people. And there are still people who don’t stick the rules. If they don’t follow the rules, they’ll get a fine. Some of them. The numbers of the infections will then increase. That’s why it takes so long. The government should bring stricter rules, for example, from 21:00 no longer in winter but it is not useful to do it now because the sun goes down later. No one is permitted to go out at this time only workers and&nbsp;and fordoctor visits." Ilias
