Malala Yousafzai is a young girl from Pakistan who fights for the right of girls in education in her country. She was born on July 12th, 1997 in Pakistan.
In 2014 she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for her fight for girls' right to education. Today she is the youngest Nobel Prize winner in the world, winning it at the age of 17.
"I am a child like everyone else," Malala once said. But how ordinary can a child be, that fights against the Taliban, at the risk of her own life, for girls self-evident right to education?
Malala started writing anonymously about her life, hopes and fears when she was 11 years old in a BBC online diary. In this way, she claimed the right of girls to education, denouncing the Taliban for forbidding girls from going to school. Because of her perceptions in 2012, and while she was inside the school bus, she was seriously injured by a bullet to the head. Nevertheless, she had the courage to continue and became a symbol of power, faith and hope for millions of people around the world.
